Ngs R&d Laboratory Technician

**NGS R&D Laboratory Technician (REF_2205_ NGS_TECH)**Location: Castel Maggiore, Bologna, Italy

**JOB DESCRIPTION**A full-time position for a research technician is available in the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) department at Menarini

Silicon Biosystems. The department is responsible for designing and validating methods and kits for molecular analysis and

NGS facility operational and to support the NGS team development activities.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Running molecular analysis protocols within the scope of methods developments, verification & validation,

troubleshooting and product life-cycle management.
- Keeping accurate records of experimental data and test results.
- Lab management activities including monitoring lab supplies inventory, ordering of materials and instrument

maintenance.

**BASIC REQUIREMENTS**:

- Degree in Biotechnology, Biology or similar disciplines
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology lab techniques including:

- Fragment analysis with Agarose Gel, Bioanalyzer or equivalents,
- Nucleic acid quantification,
- Real-Time PCR,
- DNA library preparation workflows,
- Illumina Next Generation Sequencing Instruments.
- Productivity tools, Word processing, Spreadsheets and presentation software tools (Word, Excel and Powerpoint

and/or G-Suite).
- Good comprehension of written technical English.
- Capable of writing technical reports in English.
- Good organizational skills.
- Able to work in team, reliable and precise.

**PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS**:

- Automated Liquid handlers experience (e.g. Hamilton).
- Competence in Cell Biology (cell culture and passaging, immunofluorescence, cell sorting).
- Previous experience in clinical laboratory or related work environment;
- Experience in Development, Testing, Validation and Implementation of Laboratory tests
