Our company’s Policy & Communications team collaborate with all relevant stakeholders in the Italian environment (i.e., the government, policy organizations at local and national levels, patient associations, academicians, and the media). We address legislative and regulatory issues that promote and protect the discovery of innovative medicine and vaccines while improving and protecting patient access to care. We take great care to monitor and manage the reputation of our Company communicating the work we do to improve lives.
The role of the Associate Director - Communications significantly contributes to position our Company as a relevant and key actor in the Italian health care system and to drive Company reputation through communication activities.
In the role as Assoc. Dir, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Designing and executing all the communications strategies and plans (traditional and new media) for selected therapeutic areas: in particular, Infectious Diseases, Anesthesia, Antibiotics, Diabetes.
Translating business needs into communication strategies with the objective to position our Company as key player in the Italian health care environment
Contributing to develop a narrative/storytelling to position our company as a leading Company in the Country, strongly committed through its Corporate Social Responsibility’s activities, its footprint, assets and investments.
Boosting Company’s reputation/image leveraging on all opportunities.
Developing contents for the our company’s Italy’s digital ecosystem, in line with Corporate/local strategies and iwith Compliance, implementing multichannel media plans.
Engage employees through a comprehensive internal communication plan.
Partnering with key public-private stakeholders (including patient associations) for innovative communication initiatives.
Scouting of new stakeholders in the information/digital areas, including the digital one, including media partnerships
Fostering a positive and inclusive teamwork spirit among internal colleagues by contributing to a workplace culture in line with our company’s values and principles
The position reports to the Executive Director of Policy & Communications and is part of a team that covers Government relations as well as external communication.
Qualification and Requirements
University degree in political science, law, public health, natural sciences or degree in another relevant field.
Significant experience (at least 5 years) in Life Sciences Companies’ Communication Departments (or in PR agencies, dailies, magazines): development of company’s storytelling/narrative, multichannel media plans, content creation/management for social media/websites, good networking with scientific/lay press journalists (online/offline)
Demonstrated ability to establish and manage strong partnerships and collaborations with various stakeholders as well as advise senior leadership and executives
Act as an effective leader and demonstrated ability to take responsibility of key organizational issues and anticipate them
Demonstrate supervisory skills and have the ability to lead and guide cross functional teams towards realizing the organization’s goals
Proven ability to analyze complex issues and to summarize quintessence
Excellent communication in Italian and English (written and verbal)
Ability to prepare talking points and concise briefing memos
Diplomacy, professional discretion and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
