new_cleo is a recently created British company, headquartered in London, that is developing Generation-IV nuclear reactors. Although it was launched in 2021, _new_cleo is the culmination of over 30 years of R&D, and has raised over €400million since its launch.

Its mission is to generate safe, clean and inexhaustible energy for the world, through a radically innovative combination of existing, accessible technologies.
- new_cleo is building the next generation system with the goals to, among other goals, eliminate the need for geological repositories by using a fast neutron flux avoiding production of long life radioactive elements.
- new_cleo wants to be the first step toward the evolution of its industry to become fully respectful of people and the environment. To develop a new, sustainable, and completely safe way of generating nuclear energy that will lead humanity to zero emissions, and to the mitigation of global warming.

This is a role within the _new_cleo's Government Affairs team, reporting to the Chief Government Affairs Officer and based in Turin. The individual selected for the advertised position will help _new_cleo in positioning its proposition to Government stakeholders (from national to local entities), elected officials and regulators, helping craft the overall strategy of the company.

Based in Turin, the selected individual will possess strong writing and communication skills, as well as strong people skills. Team-focused, the individual will collaborate across all departments to help extract relevant and necessary information, in order to best position _new_cleo in its interactions with Government and elected officials.

The individual will work closely with the CEO, and other members of the Executive Committee and Senior leadership, as well as the scientific team to identify content relevant to Government and elected officials.

The individual will help brief Senior leadership ahead of meetings with Officials, and occasionally lead such briefings. As well, the selected individual will accompany newcleo staff during meetings with Government and elected officials, and a times lead such interactions on behalf of the company.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Support the work of the Chief Government Affairs Officer
- Write briefings on select meetings
- Generate interest among Government and elected officials to secure meetings for _new_cleo leadership
- Help with the scheduling of workflows across multiple countries
- Ensure that follow up actions are successfully completed
- Assist in administrative, logístical and organizational tasks

**Desired Qualifications**
- Degree level educational background - Bachelor's required, Master's desirable
- Professional English Proficiency
- Italian and Frenchv proficiency desirable
- An appreciation of nuclear energy and the furthering of its agenda and promotion
- Excellent communicator in written and verbal form
- Good awareness of world affairs, communications, and workings of various governments
- High level of integrity, trust and transparency
- Strong team-work skills
- Detail-oriented, hands on and able to take initiative when required
