Maintenance Electrician at The Food Plant

Operations Technician at Food Production Plant based in southern Europe

From Euro 27k to Euro 38 k annual gross+ bonuses + overtime. Shift work. EU citizens only.

Support the Factory Engineer in providing a technical service in terms of processing and production, by driving continuous improvement, preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Yearly Gross Basic Salary Range is between 18K-23K, it depends on the education and experience of the person.

This role is on 3-shift basis (shift A - 06.00hrs till 14.00hrs, Shift B - 14.00hrs till 22.00hrs, Shift C - 22.00hrs till 06.00hrs) and who works on shift basis is eligible for ‘shift allowance’, which is not included in the above basic pay.

Shifts Allowances

Shift A - €4.28 for each morning shift
Shift B - €4.90 for each afternoon shift
Shift C - €7.40 for each night shift

This role is eligible for overtime as well and all overtime will be paid X 1.5/hour. Over-time is allowed although a minimum 11-hour rest period in between shifts is required as per Maltese law;

Key Accountabilities
Effective running of plant machinery and equipment
1.Be directly accountable and responsible for the implementation of existing equipment health check procedures involving machine parameter and intervention log sheets
2.Take active part in any alterations and modifications on equipment or installations with superiors. This also applies to any new installations or relocations of machinery or lines
3.Assist in the documentation and recording of any installations and/or alterations effected
4.Take an active part in electrical and mechanical overhauls, alterations, and installations of machinery and equipment
5.Take an active part in the regular inspection and testing of electrical, mechanical, compressed air, and any other installations to ensure safe and efficient use of these services
6.Test related equipment and machinery after repair for efficiency and ensure proper running
7.Support the Production Department in training of personnel, setting up of the production lines, and improvement of equipment to give better efficiency and / or higher quality to the end product
8.Perform breakdown maintenance when and were required
9.Support in the repair of portable tools as required
10.Construct and manufacture any electrical and mechanical items as required

Adherence to procedures in line with Company standards
1.Ensure that all safety guards and other safety features on equipment and machinery are installed and subsequently operational to safeguard the employees using machinery
2.Responsible for the safekeeping of equipment assigned
3.Maintains quality services by establishing and enforcing organization standards
4.Ensure correct procedures when taking necessary parts from stores
5.Ensure that PPE is worn according to the task being performed

Education
**MCAST -BTEC Diploma / HND Engineering (MQF 4/5)**
Wireman’s electrical License A and B Experience
2 years’ experience in a food/pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing working environment

**Skills**:Technical insight in a complex manufacturing environment Experienced with GMP, ISO Standards, Safe Food Handling, HACCP practices and HSE guidelines.
Continuous Improvement Experience/Certification highly desirable
Ability to show track record of improving production, and solving problems
