**What we´re looking for**

As an Apparel Designer specializing in alpine developments, you will design and develop functional, sustainable outdoor products that are aligned with Fjällräven’s design philosophy. You will create designs that embrace the company’s statement to be the most premium and sustainable global Outdoor Brand. The Designer will work with both technical and casual garments for women and men in collaboration with fellow designers, as well as a cross-functional product development team based in the Solna office in Sweden. The position reports to the head of R&D Apparel and will be based in our satellite office in Montebelluna, Italy.

**What you´ll do**
- Create original designs based on function, following and developing the aesthetic of the Fjällräven brand.
- Creation of design briefs based on brand strategy, market input and internal stakeholders.
- Take part in defining fabric briefs for sourcing and development of fabrics with the material department and concept teams.
- Taking part in creating seasonal colour palettes, ensuring new colours match and complement our core colours with longevity.
- Hold presentations in front of both large and small audiences at design reviews, product development presentations, global sales meetings, as well as external events with e.g. customers and/or press.
- Attend Trade Shows and company events.
- Working closely with product developers & pattern makers to ensure product functionality, fabric performance and fit.
- Creating, updating and handling design documents in accordance to Fjällräven’s templates and work flow.
- Be able and willing to travel to Stockholm as needed for collaboration, fittings and meetings as needed (a few days per month).

**Who you are**

We think you would be a great match for the position if:

- You have a degree in Design (Apparel, Industrial or Textile Engineering).
- You have 5+ years of work experience in Design or equivalent.
- You have excellent English communicative skills, both written and spoken.
- You have proven ability to create functional and commercial designs, as well as a profound knowledge of garment construction, patterns and têxtiles.
- You have strong presentation skills both verbally and visually.
- You are used to and have a strong track record of delivering according to planned schedules and milestones in time.
- You have demonstrated experience in the use of programs as: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote and Excel.
- You are proficient and knowledgeable of the outdoor market and products.
- You specialize in design and development of apparel geared towards the alpine users needs.
- You are collaborative and comfortable with working in a team-based work structure.
- You are self-propelled and motivated to initiate and generate action.
- You are creative, solution-oriented and able to maintain a positive attitude at work.
- You are keen to travel internationally when required.
- You have experience working in CLO or other 3D patterning programs.
- You are passionate by sustainability and the outdoors.
