**JOB SCOPE**
Provide world-class theming expertise and technical support to Gardaland Resort

**KEY OBJECTIVES**
Leading the delivery of theming for large and small projects across new and existing product. Delivered to a world class standard, to the agreed timescales, approved budgets and to the desired brief/quality.

To create visionary and innovative concepts, to present them to the Park to get agreement and signing off. Create a Theme booklet to turn concepts into designs. Working with Project Delivery and Attraction to deliver the theme booklet, while maintaining it’s integrity, being mindful of the budget and operational requirements.

To be the guardian of Theming in the Park. Making sure it always looks first class, well maintained, agreeing with the Technical Director on priorities for a program of replacement. Providing engineering expertise and design solutions for theming and animation at Gardaland Resort.
Maintain and promote good HSS practices at all times and ensure all employees, freelance and contractors adhere to safe working procedures on project sites.
Lead a team of highly skilled & equipped freelancers who can respond and be deployed at short notice across Gardaland to support projects and attractions.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
To have an excellent understanding of the expectations of various stakeholders. To create visionary and innovative concepts and ideas for Theming for new and existing Rides, Lands, Projects, Attractions. You need to take ownership of the bold, innovative, exciting concepts and to promote them so they are agreed and signed off by the Attraction. Your ideas and concepts must sell the project to our guests. They must always be consistent with the spirit of the Attraction.
Turning concepts into reality of world class theming via the Theme booklet and designs. To be the champion of and overseeing the Theming elements from design, manufacture and installation.
Ensure delivery and installation of all theming: to brief, on time, on budget and to a world class specification. To take responsibility for and sign off installed Theming.
Be a member of Gardaland team and being perceived as a key member of the Attraction management team whilst forging very strong links with the Merlin’s Creative and Project Delivery teams.
To compile and own a schedule of Theming work required up to 2 years out. Understand the resourcing and skillsets required to deliver.
Adhere to good H&S practices across all aspects of theming delivery (workshop, office and site) and ensure all current legislation is complied with by all employees and external parties.
Ensure all structures and effects produced comply with local current legislation and build standards to enable a seamless engineering sign off by external engineering bodies to attain critical operational certification.
Ensure effects are delivered incorporating design, risk assessments, structural evaluation, engineering design, consultation, maintenance schedule and inspection including PPM and risk-free maintenance access.
Seek out and liaise with external suppliers the delivery of innovative theming solutions that meet quality, budgetary and operational requirements.
Close liaison with Theming Production Director UK to ensure the Merlin Theming Standards Document is regularly updated/reviewed to ensure compliance with current legislation, legal standards and quality.
Provide regular project progress reports updates to senior team members & project teams as required internal and external.
Working alongside Creative Directors, provide technical advice and guidance on innovative product options that will help Merlin to achieve exceptional marketability.
Be a key liaison point when we are using external IPs. Understanding their concerns and reassuring them that their requirements will be met and not be compromised.
Ensure contact and relationships are maintained with relevant companies. Continue to research/implement/adapt technical advances from inside and outside the leisure industry that can be developed to support our business growth and deliver into our world class brands.
Work with the senior team in each RTP to ensure theming issues are resolved quickly. Provide preventative measures to ensure theming maintains its world class quality for whole life.
