**About the Role**
The Group Purchasing Director is responsible for defining and implementing the purchasing strategy for the Group. He/she coordinates and monitors all purchasing activities at Group level, planning and controlling economic performances, assuring the total cost reduction of purchasing and the proper service to all Divisions and Companies in terms of time and quality.

Main responsibilities include:

- Contribution to the definition and the implementation of Coesia business strategy, defining and implementing the global purchasing strategy and ensuring the achievement of cost reduction targets;
- Identification of Portfolio Management strategy according to companies’ needs in terms of purchasing strategy, strategic sourcing guidelines, cost management plan, sourcing opportunities and suppliers’ rationalization opportunities and development;
- Definition and verification of target values (for internal and external supplier base) in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and quality, based on the strategic purposes and analysis of price market trends and category dynamics;
- Approval and verification of purchasing standard methods, processes and rules, including terms and conditions, contractual templates, supplier quality standards, qualification processes, supplier audits tools/methods, vendor rating algorithms;
- Implementation of the purchasing planning & control system, performance analysis standards and reporting system in order to verify the economic trends, identify determined improvement areas and approve corrective and improvement actions guidelines;
- Verification and approval of the medium/long term strategic plans and the purchasing budget by category, BU, plant; verification of cost and variance analyses, value deviation trend analyses and approval of corrective actions;
- Contribution in supply market analysis and in developing category strategy; verification and approval of co-design agreements for parts, suppliers contracts and long term agreements, and monitoring of activities related to local supply base products;
- Monitoring of procurement activities and suppliers audit results; support to supplier risk assessment activities, action plan definition for critical suppliers and organization of development activities for suppliers;
- Consolidation and management of all purchasing knowledge and competences and identification and development of initiatives in order to grow and share purchasing skills;

**Basic Requirements**
- Relevant experience and proven track record of success within high-tech machinery and OEM industries;
- Experience in matrix organizations, within international groups, as a plus;
- Ability to act as a strategic advisor to identify opportunities in coordination with Company leaders at group level;
- Excellent communication skills to interface both internally with the other departments and with external stakeholders;
- Continuous improvement attitude and proven track record of improving operational KPIs;
- Lateral thinking and strategic mindset;
- Leadership, change management, influencing and people management skills;
- Fluency in English;
- Availability to travel.
