Gen Re Italy has an excellent opportunity for an **Underwriting Assistant** based in Milan.

Position Description

Working as an integral part of the Property & Casualty Facultative Team, this support and administrative role requires the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to incoming requests, managing the demands of both internal and external clients. Prioritisation, attention to detail and organisational skills are paramount.

Key responsibilities
- Pre-underwriting of Individual Risks including interpreting, analysing and inputting information supplied by our team of Underwriters and clients into the relevant underwriting database/s and rating tools, pre-filling underwriting notes, quotations and electronic files according to our various workflow procedures and underwriting guidelines
- Post-underwriting which involves processing reinsurance certificates and endorsements and monitoring along with follow up on account related outstanding tasks with clients.
- Running renewal and other ad-hoc reports. Management of Programs & Facilities administration including bordereaux
- Manage client contact information using MS Dynamics working with underwriters and clients regarding outstanding information and various correspondence
- Assist underwriters and other internal units with account management including claims documentation and management/follow up of receivables and accounts
- A degree of underwriting authority may be granted to the right individual in due course
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining a sense of urgency
- Ability to analyse, manipulate and organize complex data
- Strong mathematical, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment. Be easy to approach and able to convey information, ideas and viewpoints in a respectful tone and manner
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
- Fluent in Italian and excellent proficiency in English (both verbal and written). Other languages will be advantageous.
