**Research Fellow - Infections and Cystic Fibrosis Unit**:
IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a Research Fellow to join the Infections and Cystic Fibrosis Unit at the Division of Immunology, Transplantation and Infectious Diseases. Recent work in our lab integrates basic and pre-clinical research through a translational approach. We aim to: i) understand the genetic and molecular mechanisms involved in the host-pathogen interactions during initial and persistent infection, and ii) define new and better approaches to treat infections and cystic fibrosis.
The project is funded by the American Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The project is based on strict collaboration with groups expert in electrophysiological analysis at Ospedale Gaslini (Genova), murine lung pathophysiology (University North Carolina, USA) and Genomics Center at Ospedale San Raffaele.

**Main activities**:
manipulation and breeding of mouse colonies of different genetic background (C57BL/6 and Collaborative Cross);
establishment ex-vivo primary respiratory cultures;
in vivo and ex vivo infections with clinical bacterial strains;
immunological analysis of in vivo and ex-vivo specimens;
analyses of transcriptomics datasets.

**Who we are looking for**:
previous experiences in the field of infections or cystic fibrosis will be considered a plus.

**Work details**:
Type of contract will depend on research experience and CV of the applicant;
**Duration**: one year with possible extension;
Starting date is immediate and the position will remain open until filled;
