Project Manager with Social Auditor Skills

Local Unit & Position Description:
**We are looking for a dynamic and customer-oriented professional, with experience in managing complex audit projects, to join our Italian Local Unit as Project Manager with Social Auditor skills.** The additional experience and qualifications of APSCA certified, SMETA Lead auditor are highly desirable.

In this role, your primary function will be to effectively manage audit projects, engage with leading companies and brands across diverse sectors, making a significant impact on the results of the section, client satisfaction, and the work life of your colleagues. Your expertise as a Social Auditor will be instrumental in conducting thorough social audits, evaluating compliance with ethical practices within supply chains. By fulfilling either of the roles, you will play a crucial part in supporting customers in achieving business success and sustainability throughout their organizations and extended supply chains.

**Key accountabilities include**:
**Audit Project Management**:

- Coordinate and manage audit projects, ensuring effective coordination between auditors, clients, and other stakeholders involved in the audit process.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and address any issues or deviations to ensure timely and successful completion of audits.
- Manage relationships with customers by ensuring strong customer focus by building trust and long-lasting partnerships, collaborate with account managers to prevent and anticipate any difficulties in delivery.
- Ensure the delivery according to the established Service Delivery Plan, securing budget, time and quality agreed.
- Have an overall view of the planning process to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.
- Facilitate an efficient and effective organization of human resources available (promoting communication and teamwork), therefore ability to manage people and external partners is key.
- Maintain a periodic control process, reporting to your line manager work progress, the quality of the activities performed and deliverables, anticipating the needs for interventions or contractual revisions.
- Interact with relevant internal and international functions (sales, administration, planning, invoicing, etc.).

**Conduct social audits**:

- Perform social audits, incl. SMETA, and assessments of our suppliers and business partners to evaluate their compliance with social and ethical standards. This includes assessing working conditions, labour practices, health and safety protocols, human rights, and environmental impact.
- Ensure adherence to APSCA and other applicable standards or customised protocols
- Report and follow-up
- Technical Review.
- The role also includes typical back-office tasks.

Position Qualifications:

- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role: project execution/ coordination and end-to-end management of projects related to supplier audits.
- Demonstrated experience in customer relationship management, or experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in an international environment.
- Fluent Italian and excellent knowledge of English language is required.
- Willingness to travel domestically (and internationally if required)
- Completed higher education degree course.
- Knowledge and experience of supplier social responsibility assessment programs and social audit schemes, as APSCA certified auditor and SMETA Lead Auditor. Eventually, as a plus: RBA VAP Lead Auditor, Responsible Steel auditor, ICS trained auditor.
- Previous experience in conducting social audits, preferably in diverse industries or global supply chains is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify compliance gaps and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

**Reporting Lines**

The Supply Chain Project Manager normally reports to the Supply Chain Manager Italy.
