The R&D Automation Designer reports to the R&D Automation Leader. The purpose of this position is to design, program and manage the automation of new machines and equipment, with limited autonomy/responsibility, in accordance with company standards and procedures.

**Main Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Develop and test software for specific functions, part of machines or automations
- Design solutions for part of machine or automations from the software-electric-electronic and control point of view
- Develops and designs wiring diagrams for new machines
- Prepares and issues support documentation to record design explanations
- Supports the Production during first start up and on technical problems

**Technical Skills**:

- Excellent knowledge of industrial automation (electrics, electronics, software design, PLC programming)
- Excellent knowledge of software development (Automation Studio, TIA portal, Codesys)
- Basic knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrics and motion control aspects
- Good knowledge of Matlab environment or similar
- Good knowledge of English

**Education and Experience**:

- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or automation engineering with specific focus on industrial automation
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role in a technical office or in R&D center
