**Duties**:

- Serves as a working supervisor over the kitchen work area exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations.
- Plans use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month. Establishes deadlines, priorities, work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods and policies set by supervisors.
- Assigns tasks to subordinates. Explains work requirements, methods and procedures, instruct subordinates in new procedures. Implements corrective actions to resolve work problems; Inspects completed work for quality.
- Plans and establishes overall leave schedule. Determines training needs. Responsible for training new employees. Sets performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance
- Ensures safety and sanitation procedures and practices are observed. Maintains work reports and records.

- Requires moderate lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds

- Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- The ability to obtain (within first six months of employment) and maintain a Food Protection Manager Certification acquired through an American National Standards Institute(ANSI) accredited agency is required (i.e., ServSafe Food Protection Manager
- In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area routinely wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties
- Rotating Schedule. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Experience and training that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade.
Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment.
