Electrical/electrification Buyer

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Manages the purchase of complex assemblies and highly technical components under the Electrical group based on Platform and Regional requirements. Sources for EMEA while supporting global Electrical commodity requirements as needed.

Responsible for tactical and strategic activities involved with the purchase of critical production parts within assigned commodity. Support product launch initiatives while developing and implementing cost reduction and sourcing strategies, leading to improved quality, technology and timely delivery performance.

Current spend is approximately $50M across responsible clusters. This is forecasted to growth significantly due to the electrification macrotrend supported by product development and planned launches going forward.

Desk is comprised of multiple commodities covering several suppliers to support new launch, current production, and resource opportunities

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead supplier evaluation, selection, and sourcing for multiple commodities under the Electrical commodity desk for the company’s manufacturing operations primarily in EMEA but can also be on a global basis.

Scout the supply base, current and new, for new technology related to Electrification. Components such as e-motor, inverter, electric vehicle control unit, dc/dc converter, on board charging, batteries and Power Distribution Unit

Negotiates piece price, R&D, and tooling for total cost containment during development and after supplier selection.

Manages on-time tooling kick-offs and ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) approvals.

Researches industry trends, performs commodity market analysis, and presents strategic recommendations.

Research technology evolution and ensure CNH capture the state of art technology available at the supply base, current or new.

Furthermore, Applicant will be assigned special projects within the Electrical field and support both Buyers and Managers on top of the assigned parts under the applicants’ responsibility.

YOUR KEY COMPETENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree - Business/Engineering Degree required

5+ years’ of combined experience within Engineering, Purchasing or Supply chain.

Master’s Degree preferred

Experience of components for electrification are desired

Strong knowledge of Corporate purchasing practices and negotiation strategies

Product cost management a plus

Experience with cost controls & reduction (VA/VE)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of MRP systems preferred

Good analytical thinker and problem solving skills

As part of the experience being required, applicants must have had the following:
A. Experience in analyzing, selecting, approving and auditing suppliers for different product platforms within a multi-plant agricultural and construction equipment manufacturing environment based upon supplier capability relative to testing, designing, supporting, quality and manufacturing.

B. Experience with the manufacturing functions and sourcing of highly-engineered components.

C. Experience developing and implementing commodity strategies.

D. Strong negotiation background with knowledge of corporate purchasing practices and strategies that bring about closures of long-term agreements reflecting positive, future financial results for the company.

E. Ability to incorporate co-design agreements, S.O.W. (statement of works), warranty agreements, etc into the sourcing process and supplier selection.

F. Proven experience in mitigating supplier delivery, cost, and relationship issues with positive outcome for the company.

G. Experience in Quality Review process, including ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning
