To strengthen our EU **Rare Disease Team**, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of**:EU Rare Disease Area** Head Italy**

The Rare Disease Organization is a new structure, filled with diverse teams and colleagues who will lead UCB’s future development in rare disease. The Rare Disease Organization represents a tremendous source of UCB’s future growth potential. The investments made today must be thoughtfully placed, carefully nurtured, impartially measured and transparently communicated.

- Being a cross-functional leader of the Rare Disease operations RDO in Italy. Through an inclusive, motivating and engaging day-to-day leadership, you must be a role model for the Patient Value Strategy -principles and execute a truly cross-functional, integrated and externally oriented leadership style. You are responsible for the Rare Disease P&L of the area in close coordination with the matrix functional organizations.

**You will **contribute by**:

- leading the Solutions team, the Area HCP partners team and co-leads with dotted line responsibilities, in a matrix organization, the medical and access teams which are part of the Rare Disease Organization, as well as other functions (Patient Access & External Engagement Patient Experience, UCB Cares) for the period in which they are supporting the RDO
- overseeing the overall Area Patient Value Plan, Stakeholder facing strategy and ensures alignment of objectives across the different ecosystems in his/her Area.
- are responsible of shaping the ways of working of the Area Rare Disease Organization that is focused on external shareholder partnership, entrepreneurship, “doing more with less” mindset, and one cross-functional agile team fit to serve the rare disease community with clear accountabilities in alignment with global strategies
- monitor the execution of tailored strategies, within the remit of the Global and European strategies, for achieving RDO strategic and financial goals in partnership with specific internal stakeholders cross the ecosystems.
- Work with your team in tracking and documenting relevant market dynamics related to treatments within the TA. You ensure resources and initiatives are
- deployed to drive highest possible value through in-depth knowledge of ecosystem(s) drivers in assigned area.
- ensure transparency and timely bottom-up insights to impact generation and orchestrates the use of UCB resources “in the right places at the right times” to maximize patient value creation, optimizing cross-functional resources and appropriate use of UCB promoted drugs.
- The Rare Disease Area Head ensures that the different Ecosystems/teams in the area operate to highest standards of ethics, compliance and quality when educating,

promoting, selling and distributing its products by complying with UCB code of business conduct and industry guidelines
- Makes sure appropriate level of capabilities within area e.g. that relevant roles are deployed, and that all members of the Local Patient Value Unit have training and resources to execute effectively and adjust where necessary to reflect changing market inputs.
- Provides senior level support and presence in relation to thought leaders, KOL’s and other key clinicians, as well as key payers, networks, and other key stakeholders in the health systems.
- Works in close collaboration with the relevant European teams/ EU Backbone to ensure implementation of UCB global brand strategies and priorities (adapted to local ecosystem needs)

**Key Deliverables**:

- Multi-functional and matrix leadership of the Area’s Solution Leads, Medical and Access Leads
- Deliver successful access, P&R and launch in the assigned area of the RDO assets
- Delivery of financial targets
- Enable the creation of the cross-functional Strategic Plan for the Area and ensure the execution of the defined activities within the defined budget
- Monthly monitoring and reporting on performance versus plan across all ecosystems
