In today's world, where speed is critical and microservices need microsecond latencies, In-Memory Databases are becoming popular and critical part in almost every business segment. With our large customer base, you are probably using our services indirectly many times a day. At our scale, the software you will build will bring incredible value to a vast number of customers.

We are responsible for two in-memory databases services - ElastiCache and MemoryDB - powered by open-source engines such as Redis and Memcached. At our growing engineering team in Dublin, the team holds key portfolio for both the services focussed around security, scale and console development. As a Sr. TPM in our in-memory database team, you will lead several cross-team initiatives and cross
- functional programs across these key areas. You will interact with multiple AWS leaders running and managing AWS-wide initiatives around security, scale and console. You will help the team in Dublin scale, grow and deliver more effectively. You will own the delivery of critical projects and make tangible impact to how customers use our services.

Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate across multiple AWS organizations and other technical project managers to drive initiatives around service security, compliance and user experience. You will be responsible for driving prioritization discussion with service leadership, prodcut managers and service SDMs.
- Create program/project plans, secure commitments, identify risks and mitigations
- Report on program and project progress and status consistently and in a transparent way
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics
- Own operational metrics and support for the programs
- Report on the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to senior leadership

A day in the life

In the morning, you will work with key stakeholders in your timezone to understand bottlenecks and identifying solutions for a project(s) that you are leading. You will then meeting with senior leaders within the service (cross geographic) to review cross functional reports that will be rolled up into AWS wide program reports. You will meet with product managers in the afternoon to define priorities and drive consensus vis-a-vis other project priorities. Finally, you will interface once-a-week with wider AWS teams reporting status, discussing risks and working with them and engineering team to define mitigations to those risks.

- Experience in taking a lead role solving complex problems and developing software that has successfully been delivered to customers
- Experience in communicating with many different stakeholders, including customers, other technical teams, product managers, and senior leadership
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in driving operational excellence and best practices
- Experience in influencing outcomes of technical decision-making
- Experience in cloud technologies
- Some experience with In-Memory Databases, Caching, Memcached or Redis
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
