Generali is a major player in the global insurance industry - a strategic and highly important sector for the growth, development and welfare of modern societies.

The Group Capital Planning and Optimization (GCPO) team is part of the Cash and Capital Management unit which reports directly to the Group CFO.

Its main mission is to drive a Group wide capital management culture, focused on effective planning and continuous optimization of capital, as well as on ongoing controls and challenges on capital performance and remittance.

As part of this mission, the GCPO team:

- coordinates the Capital Planning process, with focus on Capital and Cash Integration and Optimization, Capital Management Actions, Capital Plan Monitoring and Reporting;
- defines the Group Capital Allocation framework, the Own Funds projection and implements the related tools;
- develops and maintains Group policies and guidelines on Capital Management, supporting their local implementation;
- acts as focal point within GCFO area for M&A and disposals strategic transactions assessment

The GCPO team is looking for the Head of Group Capital Planning Framework and Deployment to lead a small team (4 people) which main missions will be:

- to maintain and further develop the Capital Planning methodological and reporting framework;
- to coordinate the Group Capital Plan calculation and reporting, targeting its presentation to top management and submission to Group BoD;
- to maintain the Capital Management governance and cascade it across the Group;
- to manage the framework of Remittance and Capital Injections Process;
- to coordinate M&A/Disposal Operations capital implications and assessment

Must have
- Have a Master’s Degree in actuarial, finance, mathematics or alike disciplines with a strong quantitative focus or have a proven record of having acquired such skills through work experience
- 5-10 years of experience in finance, risk management, actuarial or ALM function, of which at least 3 years of people management experience
- Excellent understanding of insurance balance sheet, Solvency II regulation and capital performance metrics
- Advanced knowledge of standard softwares (Excel incl. VBA, Word, PowerPoint)
- Be fluent in English both in writing and in speaking

- Master another language

- Strong leadership skills are crucial to effectively share and cascade vision to the team, so to keep team members highly motivated on a standard basis
- Excellent attitude to critical thinking is needed in order to be able to analyse topics from different perspectives, get and summarise the full picture, targeting top management representation standards
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to maintain and develop collaborative business relationships with internal stakeholders
