**JOB PURPOSE**:
The purpose of this role is to drive the implementation of Sustainable Manufacturing Programmes in Burberry’s Supply Chain for our Bags Business Unit, with broader contribution to the delivery of the Sustainable Manufacturing team’ objectives as a whole.

You will act as a Chemical Manager for Burberry Manifattura and be responsible for the implementation of Burberry Chemical Management programme for the Bags Business Unit. This encompasses the implementation of Chemical Restrictions at Burberry Manifattura and across its value chain with evolving requirements, which include Burberry’s Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL), Product Restricted Substances List (PRSL) and more broadly those requirements covered by the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero.

You will also act as the Water Manager for Burberry Manifattura and be responsible for the implementation of the requirements of our Water Conservation programme across the Bags Business Unit. This will include the Water Risk Mapping the Supply Chain, completing water assessment for Burberry Manifattura and its key Supply Chain Partners, active engagement to drive continuous improvement and understanding the water footprint of the business unit’s products.

You will be expected to lead other arising Sustainable Manufacturing initiatives related to the Bags Business Unit and its Supply Chain, such as Energy or Waste

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Act as the Chemical and Water Manager for Burberry Manifattura, working alongside the Business Unit to implement the requirements of our Water Conservation and Chemical Management programmes.
- Complete Supplier to Zero Assessment of Burberry Manifattura, ensuring Chemical Management requirements for the site are in line with desired outcome. This may include, among others, maintaining an internal chemical inventory that conforms to our own MRSL, implementing a chemical due diligence testing programme of raw materials and finished products, managing chemical related Non-Conformities (including supporting the completion of RCA by our Partners and Corrective Action Plan) or promoting the implementation of the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines across the value chain (as well as RCA and CAP completion in the event of a non-conformance).
- Water Conservation Assessment for Burberry Manifattura, ensuring completion of activities in line with desired outcome (such as updating Supply Chain mapping, complete partners water assessment, drive progress in Water Resilience profile of Supply Chain, water footprinting key BU products )
- On-board partners in the Sustainable Manufacturing programmes; monitor performance and promoting progress across Burberry Manifattura Value Chain.
- Critically assess technical innovations and identify opportunities to scale Best Practices and Best Available Technologies to deliver on Sustainable Manufacturing targets set for the Supply Chain
- Contribute to the overall team efforts in ensuring partners are successfully implementing Sustainable Manufacturing programmes in-line with supply chain targets, leading Sustainable Manufacturing initiatives relative to the Bags Business Unit.
- Cultivate the relationship with the Supply Chain community through workshops, training sessions and regular updates to ensure a positive working environment, continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Data analysis and regular reporting of progress against sustainable manufacturing targets; support in the completion of internal and external reporting relative to our programmes (e.g. Annual Report, ZDHC Brand to Zero )
- Ensure alignment with Corporate and regional teams
- Promote cross-functional collaboration, communication and alignment with key teams (such as Corporate Responsibility, Regulatory & Compliance, Raw Materials Procurement, Global Sourcing or Development) to drive progress in Sustainable Manufacturing Raw Material Management

**PERSONAL PROFILE**:

- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Chemical Management/Engineering, Sustainability, Textile Engineering (or Leather)
- Textile (preferred) and/or Leather manufacturing experience.
- Technical knowledge of Chemical Management and/or water management.
- Waste and/or Energy Management experience preferred.
