IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan is looking for a Pre-doctoral Research Fellow to join the Human Inherited Neuropathy Unit, led by Prof. Alessandra Bolino.
The research fellow will contribute to a preclinical gene therapy project based on AAV (Adeno-associated viral vector) delivery aimed at preventing very severe forms of demyelinating neuropathies with infantile onset in human. The fellow will work on a highly translational project in the San Raffaele campus, which provides the unique opportunity to conjugate clinical and basic research. Our laboratory collaborates with the Department of Neurology of the Hospital and participates to established national and international clinical networks on these diseases.
**Main activities**:
AAV vector cloning
Primary cell transduction
AAV9 delivery in vivo in animal models of CMT
Vector biodistribution by real time PCR analyses (VGCN)
Quantitative mRNA analysis
Biochemical analyses (biomarker analysis)
Immunohistochemistry on tissues
Morphological analyses of the peripheral and central nervous system
Behavioral studies
