Motor Vehicle Operator Na-06

**Duties**:

- Drives various types of motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, passenger and cargo vans weighing from 10,000 to 26,000 pounds to transport personnel, supplies, and materials.
- Throughout the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions. Assists with loading and unloading cargo and materials.
- Ensures vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation.
- Completes trip tickets and preventive maintenance service records. Fills out driver's accident report in case of accident.
- Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all required pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1background investigation and a physical examination.
- Posses a valid state driver's license or CDL to operate a government vehicle with a capacity for transporting 24 passengers is required.
- Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- This position is covered by the DA Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program
- Incumbent is required to sign DA Form 5019-R. This position has critical safety or security responsibilities and as such has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP).
- Physical Effort: Light physical effort is required in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls.
- Moderate physical effort is required in making couplings and maneuvering longer and heavier vehicles.
- Moderate physical effort is required in handling objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally heavier objects with the assistance of others or weight handling equipment.
- Working Conditions: Drives outside in all kinds of weather in all types of traffic at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems.
- Exposed to dirt and fumes, and the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle.
- Duty hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Rotating schedule.

- Citizenship eligible under country SOFA Agreement.
- In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area routinely may wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties.

**Qualifications**:

- Applicant must posses a valid driver's license issued by the state in which employed for the type of vehicle(s) to be driven.
- Must have15 months of acceptable work experience operating a vehicle having the capacity and gear ratios of the type(s) of vehicles which he/she may be required to operate.**Skills and Knowledge**:Knowledge of height, weight, width, and length of vehicle in order to judge overhead and side clearances, turning radius and braking distance.Knowledge of safety rules and traffic regulations. Knowledge on how to properly load, unload, arrange, and tow cargo.Skill in selecting the shortest and safest route. Ability to recognize hazardous conditions.**Qualifying experience must be clearly described in resume. Failure to clearly describe qualifying experience in resume, may result in an ineligible rating or may affect the overall rating.**
