**In a nutshell**

You'll play a pivotal role in designing, testing, installing and maintaining control system software - the backbone - of our machines. Join a collaborative international design team and be at the forefront of shaping cutting-edge solutions that push the boundaries of mechanical design.

**What you will be doing**
- Develop and test software components and functions for controlling our laser tube cutting machines.
- Develop optimal and ergonomic solutions for the effective usage of the machine and their functions.
- Define start-up, commissioning, testing procedures for the assigned functions
- Develop the system requirements, SW concepts and design for corresponding machine functions in the areas of motion, laser, process control, automation, computer vision.
- Support the development of CAD/postprocessor programs, and the Graphical User Interface.
- Write the development documentation.
- Support the SW Requirement Engineering and the Testing Department in creating and executing the test cases.
- Support the Safety Management process.
- Support 3rd level Service process and remote diagnostics.

**Your education & experience**
- Engineer’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering, or related field.
- Graduate with a placement year and/or some industry experience with programming CNC controls according to IEC 61131-3.
- Experience in software development and in the OOP paradigm.
- Fluent English.
- Basic knowledge of the Machine Directive and Safety regulations.

**Preferred skills**
- Experience in implementing projects under Beckhoff TwinCAT 3.
- Knowledge and practice in C, C++, C# /.NET. within the integrated development environment MS Visual Studio.
- Knowledge of source control management systems (e.g. GIT) and issue tracking and management systems (Jira and Confluence would be a plus).
- Experience in Mechatronics, closed-loop axis control and tuning, advanced nonlinear control.
