Occupational Therapist

Joy Center is an American based pediatric/adult clinic that works only with military families servicing in the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force bases in Vicenza, Gricignano, and Aviano, and at remote bases throughout Italy. We are currently seeking to hire Occupational Therapist (OT) to work at all of our locations. Some travel between locations may be required. This is an excellent opportunity for an OT seeking to learn more or build upon their sensory integration experience and the desire to be trained in the DIR Model. In addition, the OT will be mentored by premier American DIR pediatric Occupational Therapist, Dr. Amy Zier

To be successful at this job, a therapist must take initiative and be a self-starter. The OT will have the ability to create their own schedule. It is expected that the OT will exercise innovative approaches to address various developmental challenges. In addition, it is extremely important that the OT is able to establish and maintain relationships with multiple military families. The clinical space has plenty of supplies and good equipment to conduct individualized sessions for clients. Clinical work includes therapy sessions, parent meetings, family interaction, school observations, correspondence with teachers, documentation, evaluations, and school observation report write ups. The client profiles that a therapist may come across include sensory, motor, emotional, and relationship needs.

**Required Qualifications**
- 2+ Years of clinical experience
- English speaker (to communicate with U.S. military families)
- Willingness to receive training on DIR model

**Preferred Qualifications**
- 1 year of pediatric therapy experience
- 1 year of sensory integration experience
