**Purpose of the job**

They will prepare all discharge / loading plans / lists relative to train as per related processes to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency with due consideration to Service Level Agreement, Train Time Slots, vessel connection.

They will liaise with yard planning for proper stacking of units discharged / laden especially as well as vessel planning for taking onto consideration connecting vessels (If any).

Elaborate / print timely all documentation necessary for train operations to be tender to Shift Leader and Control Room for a proper execution for daily operations. Rail Planner will distribute his planned game plan to the Execution, in coordination with the global PLT game Plan defined by COO.

He / she will register all events / pertinent informations / deviation with SOF and KPI set for train activities.

Serve as the focal point for train planning activity internally with Execution / Control Room ed externally with Multimodal Train Operator, Transportation Operator.

Report daily to the Rail Network Planner and the organization on production status, train schedules, equipment utilization.

Follow all safety regulations while working in the terminal area and address individuals not complying with PLT safety regulations.

**Summary of responsibilities**:

- Monitor train performance by identifying gaps between planned Game plan and actual train SOF, identify area for improvement.
- Ensure data integrity within the TOS.
- Keep the Rail Network Planner and the Shift Leader informed about any problems / delays that could affect the train arrival / departures, ensuring corrective action that can be taken within timescales.
- Work closely with the operations team during the planning phase to ensure efficient execution of rail schedules.
- Work in cooperation with Vessel Planner on identifying, planning and monitoring the cargo to/from vessels and trains.
- Gather all forecasts and changes related to train and track.
- Register all changes in discharging / loading list.
- Validate the train TPR and control data for Prebilling.
- Work with Execution / Shift leader on the optimization usage of the rails tracks.
- Work in cooperation with yard planner on receival / delivery / transfer of cargo managed by train.

**Education & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Rail Planner or similar role

**Technical Skills & Knowledge Required**:

- Strong knowledge of rail operations and related regulations
- Understanding of multipurpose port operations and yard handling equipment
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with terminal operating systems and software
- Operational Management: Ability to oversee and optimize rails operations in connection with yard and vessel planning.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordinating with various stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and space utilization to maintain operational efficiency.
- Customer Service: Strong focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence

**Language Requirements**:

- Fluent spoken and written Italian is a must.
