**About the role**

We are looking for a Head of Risk for Scalapay IP (the regulated subsidiary of Scalapay Group). In this role, reporting to Scalapay IP CEO (and with a functional reporting line to Scalapay’s Chief Risk Officer), you will be responsible for ensuring a strong control environment to protect IP’s capital and reputation in our BNPL Business.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for providing the 2nd Line of defence reviewing, challenging, and overseeing the IP business. You will also support the strategic planning, resource allocation and implementation of project plans, budgets, and timelines of the IP. And you will liaise with the regulator to make sure that our risk policies and procedures are following the regulatory requirements.

Our Risk team sits at the very core of Scalapay. It works across functions, products, and regions to monitor the performance of our payments, balancing expected losses against approval rates and customer experience.

**You will**:

- Oversee the risk function within our regulated entity (reporting to the global CRO) and maintain and address any deficiencies in the company's risk management framework.
- Establish adequate risk management policies and procedures to identify, measure and provide for the proper monitoring, reporting and mitigation of all material risks relating to the company’s activities, processes, and systems
- Ensure that the risk management policies and procedures of the company are in line with applicable law, regulations, and licence obligations
- Maintain a strong relationship with the Bank of Italy and ensure that the risk program is operating in line with Bank of Italy expectations and industry best practices
- floPerform analysis of risk data to identify insights, trends and emerging risks

**You’ll be great for this role if have**:

- Solid experience in risk position in financial industry (payment Institute or Bank)
- Italian mother tongue (or equivalent knowledge)
- English at a professional level
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends to make informed risk decisions
- 5+ years’ experience working in a regulated entity/environment
- Experience of interacting & building constructive relationships with regulators
- Strong operational risk experience but also knowledge across other risks (i.e., reputational, regulatory, compliance)
- Understanding of payment and BNPL industry
- Ability to communicate, in a timely manner, with board & executives on regulatory updates which may affect the business
- The ability to drive and manage change in relevant risk policies
- Understanding of credit risk as well as fraud risk, especially for retail credit products
- Team player who can work across functions, manage team across geographies, and effectively communicate with senior management
