Innovation Program Manager

We are looking for a **Innovation Program Manager** to be hired with a permanent contract within the Siemens Mobility Innovation Centre for Optimization & AI to lead the design, execution, and scaling of innovation initiatives across our organization within the Software Business Unit.

The Innovation Centre for Optimization & AI at Siemens Mobility advances mobility technology through research and development in the fields of Optimization & AI, with a particular focus on the Train Planning Systems (TPS) business segment.

**Your Challenge**:
As an **Innovation Program Manager**, your mission will be to lead both strategic planning and concrete project delivery. You’ll also drive the adoption of new tools and practices that improve internal efficiency and help embed innovation into how we work.

**Your main activities will be**:

- Identify, evaluate, and foster opportunities to integrate machine learning, optimization, and other advanced technologies into our product portfolio.
- Shape innovation initiatives that turn exploratory research and technical concepts into viable, scalable solutions by collaborating with product and system stakeholders.
- Monitor emerging trends in AI/Machine Learning and adjacent fields, assess relevance to our core domains, and translate insights into actionable opportunities.
- Lead the end-to-end execution of high-impact, cross-functional innovation projects with AI as a primary driver.
- Promote the use of AI-driven tooling and automation to improve team workflows, productivity, and knowledge-sharing.
- Collaborate with the Product team to support agile development cycles in innovation-focused contexts.
- Foster collaborations with external stakeholders such as academia, research consortia, or technology partners to expand the scope and depth of our innovation efforts.
- Represent your team in cross-organizational discussions around innovation, emerging technologies, and AI strategy.

**To be a perfect fit for this role, you would already have**:

- Strong scientific background in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, physics, engineering, mathematics).
- Track record of leading complex technical projects involving R&D and/or innovation, ideally in a product-oriented setting.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge research and product, turning technical innovation into tangible, user-oriented outcomes.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments, collaborating with product managers, engineers, and external stakeholders.
- Experience in product innovation, discovery, or early-stage technology validation.
- Passion to never-stop growing
- Respect and appreciation of each person’s uniqueness, willingness to co create and share knowledge
- Proficiency in English and Italian
- Eligibility to work in Italy

**Nice to haves**:

- Experience in customer success, product adoption, or other customer-facing roles where solution value was critical.
- Familiarity with agile practices and experience as a Scrum Master or agile facilitator in innovation-heavy teams.
- Prior involvement in external collaborations with academia or public/private research institutions.
