The Role:
A Dispatcher to work in the Warehouse to join our busy and fast-growing Operations team based in Lainate, Milan.

Function:

- Planning and executing shipments
- Communication link between suppliers, government authorities and Operations / Customer Service / Drivers
- Operation and maintenance of assigned vehicle(s)

Goals:
The holder of this position must fulfill his obligations in such a way that:

- all tasks in his position are completed in a correct, timely, rapid and cost-efficient manner;
- shipments are packed and transported by the most secure, most rapid, and most efficient way;
- the instructions of operations / customer service are carefully attended to;
- all tasks are fulfilled according to corporate policies and procedures;
- the needs and expectations of the customer are considered and fulfilled;
- all relevant and applicable regulations and guidelines are adhered to (e.g. ADR / IATA)

The holder of this position must coordinate the cooperation between his area of work with all other areas of the corporation in such a manner that the flow of information is always free of friction, unimpeded, and a holistically positive coordination is assured.

Tasks and competencies:
The holder of the position must independently execute the following tasks:

- edits and maintains jobs (Driver assign) in TMS
- assigns WC drivers or books subcontracted drivers.
- checks collected shipments in the office and prepare them for transport
- loads, unloads company vehicles with/of packages scheduled for pickups/deliveries;
- checks correctness and completeness of consignment during pickups/deliveries;
- checks best route available for a timely delivery/pickup;
- must be able to read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route;
- verifies good order of packages and/or envelopes;
- assure that all tasks assigned to driver are fulfilled in a correct and timely manner;
- must maintain excellent cooperation with other team members;
- must be courteous with all customers and must always use proper language;
- must be dependable and avoid unexcused absence;
- must be presentable, wear clean clothes and well-kept at all times;
- always follow safety of work;
- Builds and maintains relationships to contractors / transporters
- Manages storage area (Packaging, Supplies etc.

Individual tasks:
The holder of the position is obligated to perform, in addition to the above described tasks, individual tasks assigned by his superiors, which are to be seen by their nature as part of his work area, or which arise out of necessity.

- High attention to detail
- Uses own initiative, and be able to prioritise workload
- Presentable, Dependable, reliable, and trustworthy
- Physically fit and able to undertake the required tasks

Organizational structure:
The Dispatch staff is subordinate to Dispatch Supervisor/ Operation Manager / Country Manager.

No co-workers are subordinate to the Dispatch.
