Oncology Medical Affairs colleagues are experts with extensive knowledge of their therapeutic area and medicines. They are viewed as peers and partners by physicians and other health care professionals. We provide accurate, clinically relevant information about our medicines to aid treatment decisions through data generation and dissemination and peer-to-peer interactions. Additionally, we generate insights on our medicines and evolving clinical reality, ensuring these are considered in Oncology decisions and plans.
Pfizer is opening a temporary opportunity (8 months) for a Passionate, Talented, Innovative Medical Affairs Scientist (MAS) within the Oncology Medical Affairs Department, specifically in Breast Cancer Therapeutic Area.
Why Patients Need You- The MAS Oncology, Breast Cancer is an integral member of the Italy Oncology Medical Affairs organization. The Oncology department has the responsibility to maximize the existing in-line portfolio offering the scientific expertise and excellence while positioning Pfizer as Oncology category leader also through an exciting and promising pipeline.- Will join the Italy Oncology Medical Team and will be responsible for Breast Cancer TAs in some regions of Italy.- Will have direct relationships with healthcare professionals and research centers focused on increasing quality of partnerships to share the common final objective: patient’s health improvement.
Key Experience Offer of this Role- Identify and build effective relationships with HCPs- Lead the conversation to positively influence the external environment and help the patients with breast cancers- Contribute to develop local medical strategy- Work independently. Receive instruction primarily on unusual situations. Ability to organize tasks, time and priorities; ability to multi-task- Look across and outside the organization for better ways of working - receptive/willing to others ways of thinking- Display sensitivity to manage relationships and ability to build collaborative working relationships with colleagues and associates both within and external to the organization.
Primary Responsibilities- Maintaining the highest scientific standards during in/external activities to provide deep medical and scientific expertise.- Establish a strong collaborative scientific relationship with relevant stakeholders in the assigned area (KOLs, medical societies, and other relevant internal/external stakeholders).- Provide scientific and medical data to leading health professionals and decision-makers to ensure safe, proper, and effective uses of assigned products, contributing to patients (and populations) health and well-being.- Facilitate the integration of customer medical insights into the national medical and brand strategy, ensuring the provision of medical and scientific strategic support to the medical team. Additionally, contribute to the implementation of the national medical plan.- Responsibility for medical activities at national level referred to the TAs strategy- Organization of consulting processes within the team and the headquarter (Medical and Commercial relevant functions)- Contribute to the selection of research locations in collaboration with clinical operations according to Pfizer SOPs and Policies- Observe compliance rules, ensuring activities and communications are conducted in compliance with all policies, guidelines, and regulation and ensure the respect of medical independence.
What You Offer- Medicine degree is required- Specialty training or PhD (Oncology strongly preferred), academic experience or clinical experience are required- Relevant Oncology Therapeutic Areas experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred- Experience in conducting clinical research activities is preferred- Excellent and proven scientific and technical expertise- Ability to work with cross-functional colleagues- Excellent English and local language- Excellent communication and public speaking skills- Adherence to Pfizer Values: Courage, Excellence, Equity and Joy
