About the role

AIG’s underwriters develop insurance solutions that address the exposures of companies and individuals, and our standard of underwriting excellence and tradition of innovation, bringing to market groundbreaking insurance solutions for our changing world. AIG’s underwriters help to find insurance solutions for risks from a range of areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients and High Net Worth individuals.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Lines Underwriter who could work with different distribution channels and with a focus on developing the portfolio in a profitable way

**The responsibilities for this role include**:
Responsible for analyzing risk and underwriting all products for Professional Indemnity

Accountable for underwriting submission up to authority limit for all risk classifications

Reviews new and renewal business submissions, evaluating account performance and risk factors

Documents underwriting files according to established guidelines

Ensures the quality of the underwriting practice and adheres to Best Practices and underwriting policies, guidelines and procedures

Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external business partners

Contribute to continuous improvement of the underwriting process (service levels, turn times, error rates, customer experience, and underwriting leakage)

Develops renewal negotiation strategies. Presents renewal to justify rates and negotiate the renewal strategy

Communicates with producers and clients to ensure common understanding of terms, conditions and ratings, and quotations; and resolves procedural and computational problems of involved, lengthy, multi-location, or difficult risks

Maintains effective producer and client relationships

Demonstrates intimate knowledge of current regulatory issues, economic indicators, trends and competitor strategies

**What we’re looking for**:
Analytical and quantitative skills
Process and system skills
Strong customer service ethic, with a sound understanding of the business processes
Good level of English and Fluent in Italian
Good presentation, prioritization, and time management
