Junior Portfolio Manager

As we continue to evolve our client portfolio and expand, MET Energia Italia is now looking for a talented Junior Portfolio Manager, who will be contributing to the growth of the company in the Italian market.

Within your first weeks you will receive a full training on the job so you have to be an eager learner in order to build your competencies that will render you independent. But we do not bring people aboard just to replicate what we already do, so at the same time you will have to identify potential areas of optimization and present your suggestions in a structured manner to the Portfolio Management team.

Step by step you will take on several activities that are part of the main duties in a Portfolio Management role, bringing your contribution to our daily operations:

- Contribute to define the power and gas sourcing and portfolio management strategy which best combines the multiple targets of supporting the sales activity, generating substantial profits and keeping risk under control;
- Define and set-up the MET Italy portfolio operations within the Group ETRM in order to allow proper deal booking and position management;
- Ensure that the sourcing activities take place efficiently and profitably, in full alignment with the company risk management policies and procedures;
- Manage the volume forecasting activity and the associated hedging, and portfolio management, with a view to minimize the balancing/flexibility risk associated with the customer portfolio;
- Support the introduction of new systems and processes that will structure and develop the sourcing activities in alignment with MET Group IT standards and operational procedures;
- Expand the sourcing activity by adding new counterparties (eg. Renewable Producers, Power Trading Companies, etc.) and ensuring that the sourcing process remains smooth and fully monitored;
- Expand the sourcing activity by dealing PPAs with Renewable Producers;
- Perform dedicated pricing for the Sales Teams (Large Corporates, SME & Households), in order to minimise risk and support the portfolio expansion;
- Be active and ready to take on new challenges in other areas of MET based on your career growth objectives.
