Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) is Europe’s foremost climate innovation initiative, entrusted by the European Commission to catalyse transformation through innovation. Headquartered in Amsterdam, with circa 160 people distributed all over the EU, Climate-KIC leads and orchestrates innovation with a community of more than 400. Together we conduct activities in 39 countries. We partner with cities, regions, governments and communities with the highest climate action ambition; providing the framework and expert support to holistically manage the complexity of climate change and deliver accelerated climate action.

Climate-KIC operates as a not-for-profit platform working through public-private partnership, wielding both public and private funding. We consist of 3 Legal entities: a Dutch BV Holding company (for profit) with 14 branches in European jurisdictions, providing grant management, innovation orchestration services, and impact investment advisory owned by a Dutch-based foundation with charity status - Climate-KIC International Foundation. Historically, we have been funded by our founder and core funder, the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), but we are currently transitioning to a multi-funder model.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Climate-KIC is seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic Transformation Lead to drive integration and alignment across the organisation so that it can effectively and efficiently capture market value and scale impact. This pivotal role will identify, assess and lead the execution of strategic and value creation initiatives to advance Climate-KIC’s mission and strategic goals. The Transformation Lead will champion strategic transformation efforts and provide robust program and change management

oversight.

Initially, the role focus will be on developing and aligning the service/product roadmap, shaping commercial offerings, professionalising fundraising and go-to-market strategies, and strengthening collaboration & resource planning across the organisation. The Transformation Lead will orchestrate the integration of cross-functional teams to unlock their full synergistic potential. Operating at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution, the Transformation Lead will be instrumental in

driving meaningful and lasting impact within the climate innovation landscape.

This leader will identify and shape strategic opportunities AND operationalise them - positioning Climate-KIC for sustained growth and amplified impact.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Strategic Integration and Synergy Creation**
- Foster collaboration across clusters and teams by breaking down siloes, improving alignment and building cohesive partnerships so that the impact is greater than the sum of the parts
- Serve as a key integrator to ensure strategic alignment between service & product development, commercialisation, fundraising / sales, and delivery functions
- Support knowledge sharing and best practices to enhance organisational effectiveness
- Support the continuous improvement of ways of working and interfaces across the organisation and with external partners and stakeholders

**Strategic Opportunity Identification and Development**
- Identify, shape, assess and operationalise new strategic opportunities in collaboration with leadership to advance Climate-KIC's mission
- Contribute to organisational strategy & plan development to identify the organisational capacity, capability and investments necessary to achieve the desired impact and outcomes
- Support innovation efforts and foster strategic partnerships
- Develop and refine commercial offerings that align with organisational goals and market needs
- Support efforts to position Climate-KIC’s services and products for greater market appeal and fundraising success

**Program and Change Management Oversight**
- Provide oversight and leadership for key strategic initiatives and transformation efforts
- Ensure effective change management practices to support organisational adoption and engagement
- Partner with the People team to implement cultural initiatives that promote agility, engagement, and collaboration
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and change management programs to build readiness for transformation

**Value Chain Optimisation**
- Lead the redesign and continuous improvement of business processes in the Hub and adjacencies to foster integration and operational efficiency
