Facilities and H&s Manager

**About the Role**:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced **Facilities and Health & Safety (H&S) Manager** to oversee the effective operation, maintenance, and compliance of our school campuses. Based at **H-FARM International School**, part of the **Nord Anglia Education** European Region, this role ensures that our facilities are safe, efficient, and aligned with our high standards of educational excellence.

You will lead the Facilities and H&S teams across multiple campuses, managing maintenance operations, service contracts, budgets, and all compliance aspects related to health and safety. Working closely with internal stakeholders, external providers, and the Ca Tron Servizi team, you will play a key role in maintaining an inspiring, safe, and sustainable learning environment for our students and staff.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Facilities and Building Management**:

- Oversee all aspects of the school’s buildings and grounds, ensuring their upkeep, functionality, and compliance.

- Lead the maintenance, repair, and development of facilities across all campuses, coordinating closely with Ca Tron Servizi and internal teams.

- Supervise maintenance operatives, caretakers, and facilities assistants, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

- Manage relationships with external service providers, contractors, and vendors, ensuring full compliance with Italian regulations and Nord Anglia standards.

- Prepare specifications, obtain quotations, and negotiate contracts for maintenance, repairs, and improvement works.

- Ensure all facility-related projects, renovations, and relocations are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

- Oversee campus security systems, including access control, alarms, and fire safety.

- Manage cleaning, catering, and leasing agreements, as well as all related operational services.

- Maintain accurate records and approve invoices related to maintenance and facility services.

**Health and Safety Leadership**:

- Ensure the highest standards of health and safety across all school campuses.

- Coordinate and maintain risk assessments, audits, and inspections in line with local legislation and Nord Anglia policies.

- Manage the Sphera H&S system, ensuring all incidents, near misses, and hazards are properly reported, investigated, and resolved.

- Liaise with the RSPP, local authorities, insurers, and auditors on all compliance and reporting matters.

- Lead the school’s H&S Committee and ensure regular reviews of procedures, policies, and documentation.

- Deliver or coordinate H&S induction and refresher training for staff, ensuring adequate numbers of first aiders and fire marshals are always in place.

- Oversee installation, inspection, and maintenance of all H&S equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, first aid kits, AEDs, PPE).

- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements for areas such as electrical systems, radon, asbestos, and legionella.

- Prepare monthly H&S performance reports and drive continuous improvement in safety culture across all sites.

**Event Coordination**:

- Support school events by coordinating facility setups and logístical arrangements.

- Liaise with internal stakeholders to plan venue preparation and ensure smooth execution of evening and weekend events.

- Manage security and access before and after events, ensuring spaces are properly opened, closed, and alarmed.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Proven experience in **Facilities Management and Health & Safety**, ideally within an educational or multi-site environment.

- Strong knowledge of **Italian H&S regulations** and building compliance requirements.

- Experience in managing budgets, procurement, and service contracts.

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Italian.

- Relevant **Health & Safety certifications** (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or Italian equivalent) preferred.
