**R**ole**

The Restaurant Host/ Hostess is a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the colleagues of the restaurant. While guests are waiting to be seated or waiting for take-out orders to be ready, it is the job of the Restaurant Host/ Hostess to ensure that the guests are comfortable and kept informed of the status of their orders or wait times. The Restaurant Host/ Hostess needs to know all activity within the restaurant at all times. Details of VIP guests and all irregular reservations and requests.

**R**esponsibilities**
- Manage the front desk by receiving incoming calls, greeting and attending to customers.
- Inform guests about the availability of tables and direct them to the tables.
- Keep records of guests who visit the restaurant.
- Assist customers with answers to queries, and offer solutions to issues within your capacity.
- Collaborate with other restaurant colleagues and the management to ensure that customer complaints are properly attended to in a timely manner.
- Manager the system in regard to payments and billing.
- All cash and credit card transactions.
- Opening and Closing of the register for each meal period.
- Ensure that clients make payment for services before they exit the restaurant.
- Keep clear records of payments received and make detailed notes of balance payments.
- Communicate with other colleagues, such as dinners, informing them of clients’ bookings, needs and complaints.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2 years in a similar reception position. In a hotel or Restaurant.
- Verbal and written proficiency in English and Italian is preferred.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Multitasking ability.
- Possess retentive memory to remember bookings.
- Ability to pay attention to details.
- Ability to maintain orderliness.
