Amnesty International is an international movement made up of over 7 million people who dedicate themselves to protecting and promoting human rights. We are active in the Global North and Global South. In Italy, our organization has about 500.000 supporters and 2.000 activists.

**Posizione**:
We are looking for a Head of Media and Communications who wants to contribute to promote the organisational’s objectives by providing accurate and appropriate communications that help to develop the human rights agenda and raise awareness of Amnesty International’s (AI) work.

The Head of Media and Communications ensures the following goals are reached:
1. Developing and managing the PR activities to increase AI’s visibility with business and media on a global level

2. Acting as focal point for all external communication material on offline media and collaborate with the digital media, contributing to the website content update

3. Ensuring the identification of new marketing strategies aimed at expanding the organisation’s brand

4. Developing and managing communication tools to key interest groups: internal staff, partners, members, media

5. Ensuring the draft of clear and compelling press releases, web copy, speeches, social media news items, and communications with key stakeholders

6. Managing the delivery of the above through a bouquet of offline channels

7. Creating and maintaining relationships with the internal and external stakeholders, in particular with the Media team of the International Secretariat.

**Technical skills and knowledge**

1. Excellent knowledge of human rights issues

2. Strong experience in developing strategies and running successful media events

3. Very strong writing, editorial and graphic capabilities

4. Strong knowledge of the media industry

5. Good knowledge of Amnesty International’s aims.

**Competencies**

1. Creativity: creating and implementing ideas and solutions to respond to criticism and elaborating innovating alternatives as opposed to traditional methods and approaches.

2. Team Work: bringing an effective contribution to the achievement of common results, developing consensus and forging collaborations for the achievement of the common goals.

3. Project Management: developing and managing clear working plans and setting goals, priorities and strategies in the medium-long term in light of organisational strategies and the contextual constraints/opportunities.

**Requisiti**:
We are looking for a Head of Media and Communications with the following characteristics:
1. University degree (or equivalent) in Communication or Marketing, Social Communication master degree (or equivalent) is an asset.

2. At least five years of postgraduate professional experience in communications or related fields with similar tasks and a deep knowledge of human rights issues;
3. demonstrated ability to make a complex story impactful and accessible together with proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take initiative;
4. comfort with data and research to drive efforts.

**Contract**: full time, one year fixed-term contract, renewable.

**Gross Annual Salary**:from** **€ 30.000 to € 35.000 (based on qualification and work experience).
