Gorgonzola hosts Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain. The activity of NAS domain: avionics, navigation and radar systems for civil air traffic and technologies supporting the activities of civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers and technicians of several airlines, air traffic control agencies and Air Force around the world. Italy is the Group’s Competence center for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products.

Key features of role for THALES:

- The role will lead our logistic process and contribute to multiple cross-functional delivery projects across the international organization of our Business Unit.
- Within this role falls the responsibility for the shipping, transportation and warehouse management for our organization in Italy, with direct link to our international counterparts.

Core Objective/Goal:

- Lead logistic activities and warehouse management.
- Manage local team as well as contracted resources for warehouse management (3PL).
- The role includes the definition, the management and follow-up of logistic and transportation plans to serve delivery projects of the Business Unit.
- It is included the elaboration and monitoring of KPIs on logistic flow and warehouse keeping for the local driven business.

Detailed job description and responsibilities:

- Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries.
- Selecting carriers and negotiating contracts and rates.
- Researching ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers.
- Supervising logistics, warehouse (3PL) and transportation.
- Working with other departments to lease logistics, with company procedures and operations.
- Evaluating budgets and expenditures for the function.
- Updating and evaluating metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
- Control compliancy with laws, import and export regulations, and customs procedures.
- Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints and contribute in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Provide logistic support to bid phase anticipating best solutions and associated costs for the future business.

Required certified training:

- APICS is and advantage.

Education
- Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification.

Needed skills:

- 5 years’ experience in the field of international industrial logistic. Electronic market is an advantage.
- Good ERP knowledge (MRP/MPS/Forecast management). Oracle preferred.
- Ability to lead, coach and manage a team.
- Ability to liaise within international organization with peers.
- Ability to summarize and present business scenarios to management.
- Fluent in English written and spoken.
- IT savvy.
