Local Unit & Position Description:
Our customers are requiring a wide range of certification skills and knowledge. From materials and welding to highly sophisticated machinery systems (gears, thrusters, compressors) to pressure vessels and pumps to electrical installations and automation systems. From this traditional background, we started a journey covering also advanced future technology. Fuel cells, new types of turbines, advanced electrical drives, and lithium batteries for ship propulsion.

**Your main responsibilities**
- Certification and verification of materials and components under class and non-class related systems and processes in Italy
- Managing our client's needs
- Communication within the organization
- Project-orientated work - cooperation in interdisciplinary verification projects
- Active support of our processes on the way into a new digital world.

Position Qualifications:

- Master/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Marine Engineering (or other relevant disciplines)
- Valid working experience as CMC/VMC Surveyor is welcome
- Valid driver license required and acceptable driving record meeting company requirements
- Good communication skills, both written and oral, in English and ideally in Italian (or eagerness to learn local language).
- Ability to work pro-actively, flexibly and independently
- Result-oriented and self-organized
- Customer-oriented approach
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Openess to traveling within Italy.

Area Iberia, Italy & Malta is part of the Maritime Region West Europe. The Area includes all operational classification business and consist of ~60 employees in eleven locations. The Area operates with two Service Lines, New Building (NB) and certification/ verification of materials and components (CMC/VMC), while the Fleet in Service (FIS) Line is organized as part of business unit FiS West Europe. We are looking for a CMC/ VMC Surveyor to join our CMC&NB team in Italy, reporting to the local Head of Section.
