Medical Advisor

**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Therapeutic Area Medical Affairs Director, the Medical Advisor engages in scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and scientists (HCPs), with emphasis on regional and national scientific leaders and key decision makers for a specific Therapeutic Area within Vaccines.

The Medical Advisor is accountable for the timely planning and flawless execution of Country Medical Affairs Plans (CMAPs), Scientific Platforms, and SL Engagement Plans, well aligned with local and regional strategies and with the SMART plans as well.

She/he is the owner of the strategic plan and may also provide input and insight based on interactions with their SLs and other stakeholders’ engagements into the Medical Affairs strategy and ensure that it translates into concrete engagement (action) plans in the field.

The Medical Advisor may also represent our company in a range of local, national, and international non-promotional Medical Affairs activities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Budget Planning.
- Provides input into the therapeutic area medical strategy.
- Ensures that there is adequate and compliant cross-functional partnering with internal stakeholders.
- Organizes regular trainings, imparting of best practices, reinforcing on compliance matters and discuss therapeutic area strategies.
- Develops and maintains up-to-date scientific knowledge around relevant disease areas, products within those areas and research methodologies.
- Ensure optimal scientific leader management and support
- Develop the medical strategy (including the Medical Affairs plan, MAPs) for the specific therapeutic Area
- Align medical strategy with business unit/franchise-needs with marketing
- Responsible for the creation and timely execution of all medical activities in his/her areas of responsibility including medical education, data generation activities etc...
- Accountable for close follow ups on all systems updates of the activities under his/her responsibility.
- Team-up with GCTO and Market access around new products.
- Ensures alignment with company SOPs/Guidelines and local laws and regulations.

**Qualifications**:

- MD, PhD, PharmD or Pharmacist
- A MD degree and Public Health specialization is highly preferred.
- Industry experience in Medical Affairs and therapeutic area experience is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of clinical research and scientific data generation is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated project management and team-working skills preferred

**Dimension of the position**:
Approval Authority: LCM-related expenses.

Operating Budget: LCM budget for his/her therapeutic areas of responsibility. LCM budget will vary depending on the number of activities planned in the CMAPs.
