Health and Safety Consultant

ERM is seeking a motivated Health and Safety Consulting Associate with a passion for sustainability to join our growing team based in Italy.

The role will be based in Milan, consisting of working full time on site for one of our projects in the environmental services sector as H&S specialist. The job position is on a fixed
- term basis for one year contract with the possibility of renewal at the end of the project with a permanent contract.

And the services provided by the EHS/OP Team include EHS strategy, designing and implementing EHS management systems, compliance management support and delivering audit programs; and cover the breadth of environmental through to health and safety disciplines.

Job Responsibilities:
The figure we seek will have a central role in the coordination and implementation of H&S regulations and standards for one of our projects in the environmental services sector. The mission is to support the HS operations to achieve short and long-term business objectives. The primary areas of focus include of reducing risks of employees, eliminating serious injuries, integration of HS management systems.

Main tasks:
- Reviewing and updating the risk assessment document (DVR) and its improvement plan.- Regularly review existing HS documentation to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement.- Development work instructions and safety procedures for risk management.- Support in the planning of industrial hygiene monitoring in the workplace and coordination of the companies in charge of the surveys/ analysis.- Management and monitoring of personal protective equipment.- Support in planning, recording and monitoring activities of induction, information and training.- Support in planning, recording and monitoring activities of periodic maintenance of equipment and facilities.- Conducting professional technical qualifications of contractors.- Field audits and operational control activities to verify the activities carried out by personnel and/or contractors working at the site.- Preparing/updating/verifying the emergency plan for workplaces and assisting in the conduct emergency drills.- Support in the analysis and reporting of accident events and near misses.- Monitoring and reporting on corporate health and safety indicators.

About You:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Health and Safety.- Degree in a relevant field: Engineering (e.g. Environmental Engineering) or Tecniche Prevenzione e Protezione luoghi di lavoro or a related discipline o/and equivalent higher education (technical institute) o/and completion of a training course with RSPP or ASPP qualification.- Strong knowledge of Testo Unico 81/08 s.m.i. e s.m.i./normativa antincendio e CPI/Accordo stato regione per formazione.- Strong knowledge of HS regulations, standards, and best practices for Italy.- On-site experience.- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate a team.- Working knowledge of English (B2) is required.
