We are looking for a **Quality Lab Manager **for our new site located in Modena producing carbon fiber materials.
The **QLab Manager** leads the Laboratory at the Modena facility and is responsible for the qualification of raw materials and products for MCG's customers. As such, he/she is the guarantor of the smooth operation of the quality control laboratory, the efficiency of the product quality control practices, the adequacy of the test methods and equipment used, and the performance of the laboratory personnel. Works with the Quality Manager to maintain an appropriate level of quality in accordance with the requirements of applicable certification standards for all laboratory activities.
Also works proactively with the production team to intercept and resolve any product-related quality issues and handles customer complaints.
Main tasks & accountabilities:
- _Develop Safety and KAITEKI in the laboratory also by Job Safety Analysis and implementation of work instructions for the laboratory_
- _Coordinate the material certification processes in collaboration with the Quality Manager to satisfy customer requirements_
- _Develop and validate suitable test methods for verifying product and raw material quality in alignment with market trends and customer requirements_
- _Coordinate testing activities subcontracted to external laboratories or other company facilities_
- _Ensuring the release of products within the timeframe defined by the planning department_
- _Management of incoming inspection and release of raw materials_
- _Define the technical specifications for the acquisition of new laboratory equipment_
- _Managing an appropriate monitoring (maintenance and calibration) plan for laboratory equipment_
Main requirements for the role:
- 5 years of experience in similar position in testing laboratory for composites, plastics or chemical industry, at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Appropriate knowledge of hazardous materials / chemicals
- appropriate knowledge of composite material properties and characterization methods
- experience with ISO and/or ASTM and/or EN standard testing methods
- Knowledge of iso 17025
- Knowledge of statistical methods for material data analysis (doe, outliers, t/ f-test, Anova, etc)
- Knowledge of statistical process control methods (SPC, control charts, etc)
- Proficient in using ERP systems and MOS
- Native speaker or fluent in Italian and proficient English
