CHIEF ACCOUNTANT

San Clemente Palace is a luxury five stars hotel Located on a private island in Venice, just 10 minutes from San Marco. San Clemente Palace immerses guests in a 900-year-old building steeped in Renaissance charm and heritage, featuring a series of beautifully restored monastic buildings, a historic 12th-century church, and lush gardens.

We are seeking a **Chief Accountant** for our hotel.

Our Chief Accountant manages day-to-day accounting operations, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Key responsibilities include overseeing accounts payable/receivable, managing payroll, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, conducting internal controls, and preparing for audits to support the hotel's financial health and strategic goals.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, forecasts, and budgets to monitor performance and provide insights to management.
- Daily Accounting Operations and bookkeeping:
Supervise the maintenance of the general ledger, ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions, and oversee accounts payable and receivable.
- Compliance & Audit:
Ensure all accounting practices comply with local laws, tax regulations, and internal policies, and coordinate with internal and external auditors and consultants.
- Cost Management:
Monitor cost control systems, identify cost-saving opportunities, and analyze profitability.
- Team & System Management:
Manage and guide the finance and accounting team, and oversee the implementation of accounting software and systems.
- Cash Management:
Manage daily cash transactions and ensure proper cash flow is maintained.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum five years of experience in the role.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles Italian fiscal system, If also USALI it’s a plus.
- Experience in managing accounting operations in the hospitality sector.
- Strong analytical, financial analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to supervise and guide a finance team.
- Familiarity with financial software systems and accounting standards, Business Central and Opera PMS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
