Our client is a multinational company and a global leader in the design, development, and production of engineered systems, solutions and equipment for the manufacturing industry. The company employs over 10,000 people around the world, with many strategically located manufacturing sites committed to superior customer service and quick local deliveries on all continents.
We are currently looking for a qualified manager for the position of:
**GENERAL MANAGER ITALY**:
**Main responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Regional General Manager for Northern & Southern Europe, the General Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of customer, operational and financial performance of the operating company, ensuring that planned targets for sales, profit, and margin growth are achieved in an inclusive and purpose-driven environment.
To be successful in this role, the skills and experience are likely to include:
- A proven track record of directly contributing to the profitable growth of a business, both organically and through the development of new business opportunities.
- Previous P&L responsibility and/or significant experience of directly contributing to P&L decisions as part of a leadership team.
- Strong understanding of Sales and the overall Commercial process & strategies, either through a Sales management role, General Manager with direct experience of managing complex multi-channel sales, or significant exposure to a Sales process.
- Strong strategic thinking competences, with the ability to challenge the status quo and the tenacity to execute and embed changes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams across different functions, both locally and remotely (strong English and Italian language skills).
- Proven skills in developing and coaching teams in a matrix environment.
The responsibilities will focus on:
- Continuing embedding and driving the successful local implementation of the key customer.
- Taking full P&L responsibility for the company and achieving self-generated sales growth and profitability that outperforms the market.
- Developing and delivering comprehensive annual and long-term business plans for Italy overall and for each of the sub-P&L’s of the business (**OEM, Resellers, End Users, Services**).
- Leading on the EHS agenda, ensuring safety for colleagues and business, championing company values and implementing key Group strategies.
**The ideal managerial profile possesses a solid experience, with a strong sales background gained within structured companies operating in the industrial sector, supplying products and solutions for the manufacturing industry.**
- He/she will be a strong communicator, with the ability to motivate and inspire its team, and collaborate across functions and cultures.
- He/she will be comfortable with strategic thinking, able to think creatively and laterally, and challenge the status quo.
- Its resilience enables he/she to cope well with setbacks and pressure, and productively handle resistance. With a ‘can do’ attitude, execution capacity and tenacity to see things through have been key attributes to the success of the position so far.
- He/she is able to build, lead, develop and inspire teams, using coaching, mentoring and motivating techniques.
