The Medical Director EMEA & ASPAC is part of the Workplace Environmental Health & Safety Team, reporting to Senior Director Workplace Environmental Health & Safety Excellence. S/he is responsible for supporting the deployment and performance of OH strategy, policies, standards and compliance across his/her region in the area of occupational health and workplace health risk management. S/he is a change leader who creates heightened organizational engagement on human health and performance to deeply embed a strong culture of health across the organization. The Regional Occupational Health Medical Director is an important thought leader and needs to be able to educate and influence at all levels of the organization to drive compliance and protection of employees.
- Responsible for the planning and management of medical services at multiple sites with emphasis on injury and illness management, medical surveillance, employee accident case management and disability management.
- Drives efforts to strengthen and build Occupational Medicine support services within the region (EMEA and ASPAC). Including the selection, on boarding and on-going development, mentoring, monitoring and support of appropriate Occupational Medicine Support.
- Promotes and drives occupational health as a core value within all of EMEA & ASPAC operations.
- Supports the development of an Americas strategy for occupational health that is integrated into Regional OH, EHS and business strategies.
- In conjunction with the Regional Directors and HR Wellness & Health Promotion for EMEA & ASPAC develops systems to ensure clinical excellence in occupational health and wellness activities.
- Support the development and implementation of occupational health policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and strategies to ensure the protection of employees.
- Support OH Americas Operations in meeting regulatory and company requirements, including closure of action items from assessment and audit processes.
- Encourages and drives appropriate corrective action is taken where workplace health risks are identified.
- Interfaces with local and national government regulatory compliance agencies for workplace safety and global Health; vendors for global health in region; regional OH and EHS, External and internal technical, professional and business experts.
- Leads an aggressive effort to fully integrate workplace health processes into the business processes and strategic plans of partners in Americas franchises and locations.
- Coaches and advises the health services staff and management on ways to improve outcomes and programs in their areas/sites within the region.
- Supports the development and delivery of training programs relating to OH programs.
- Supports collection and validation of key Global Health data and metrics
- Provides upper management with ongoing consultation pertaining to health-related matters.
- Support the creation of business cases for funding Occupational health initiatives.
- Assures regular and vigorous communication with regional occupational health services staff.
- Focus efforts on developing robust, repeatable and sustainable processes within Occupational Health Services.
- Support the induction and development of Occupational Health Services staff in the EMEA & ASPAC region.
