Our client is a** **leading and historical Italian pharmaceutical company**, a major player in the drug manufacturing industry and strong in the R&D of increasingly personalized and innovative therapeutic solutions.

A Group present in 140 countries, with 18 production plants and 9 R&D centers, driven by the shared purpose of achieving excellence.

We are looking for a **Global Procurement Excellence Lead**, who will report to the Global Procurement Director and will lead the **continuous improvement of Procurement operations across the Group**. This role drives the efforts towards delivering and embedding throughout the Group Procurement Excellence solutions which further develop existing practices, tools, and processes to support the Procurement Transformation program.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**1. Strategic Responsibilities**
- Define, operate and innovate **procurement process governance framework** to drive group category management, supplier relationship management, sourcing and contract management excellence.
- Proactively **scout for industry best practices and know-how**, propose business cases for justification and implementation to continuously drive excellence in Procurement.
- Define and implement procurement standards to **drive harmonization of practices across the Group**.
- Ensure productive **balance between understanding process variation at each local site** to ensure local requirements are met **while maintaining global ideal process perspective**.
- Define and ensure **appropriate metrics** are in place to inform relevant stakeholders of the Group’s Procurement performance in key areas.

**2. Tactical Responsibilities**
- Support Global Procurement by **deploying best in class practices and tools** across the global organization.
- Act as a change agent and **drive the transformation agenda** - ensuring both internal and external stakeholders are challenged to pursue Procurement solutions that deliver best values for the business, while selecting/utilizing the most efficient tools/processes to achieve this.
- Actively take part in global projects focusing on business process excellence development.
- Own and drive the process-related management of change, including innovation workshops and training delivery to the Procurement community.
- Support the Global Procurement teams with effective spend analytics and Market Intelligence solutions.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- University degree in business
- Minimum of **ten years of experience in Procurement**:

- Extensive conceptual **knowledge and experience of procurement practices, processes, solutions, and oversight**:

- Broad base knowledge of related business functions (Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, Compliance)
- **professional use of English**:

- Travel requirement - limited
