**Engineering Underwriter**

The team is responsible for underwriting Engineering risks nationally and internationally. Through the

specialised support of our international network, we are able to provide our clients with a valuable

underwriting service, guaranteeing optimal overall management of the underwriting process.

**What will you do?**

As an Engineering Underwriter, you will be responsible for independently managing the underwriting of

risks in the line of business (mid-corporate and corporate risks in the construction/renewable

energy/electromechanical sector) by proactively assessing all aspects of risk underwriting, both technical

and contractual, with the aim of supporting our partners by providing a quality service and contributing

to the growth of the line of business.

**What will your role be?**

As Underwriter you will have the following responsibilities
- Support the underwriting strategy of the engineering branch by being an active member of the

engineering underwriting team
- Manage the existing risk portfolio and new submissions proposed by the market for both domestic

and international risks;
- Analysing the technical documentation received (plans, technical reports, geotechnical reports,

technical specifications, etc.) and the insurance terms and conditions in order to analyse the

characteristics of the risk, assess its consistency with the company's underwriting principles and

determine the applicable insurance terms and conditions
- Perform, if and when necessary, inspections of insured sites
- Constantly interact with both the local underwriting team and the Home Office team to share

underwriting assessments/strategies
- Transpose and implement the guidelines and underwriting authority defined with Home Office
- Constantly interacting with other Company departments such as the Operations team, Risk

Engineering team, Sales team and Claims team in order to pursue branch objectives

What is your profile?

Are you a proactive person with excellent communication and analytical skills? We are looking for a

colleague eager to learn and grow as an insurance professional who has the following characteristics
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- 3 years' experience in the same role at a leading insurance company, with a particular focus on

construction
- Preferably previous experience in construction companies/general contractors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Curiosity, proactivity and analytical and problem solving skills
- Willingness to interface and collaborate with other branch departments and the Home Office

team
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent decision-making, time management and deadline management skills;
- Good knowledge of the English language, spoken and written;
- Good digital literacy including competence in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), MS
