Purpose of the position

To manage a portfolio of clients to ensure delivery of Internal & Supplier audits, with the focus in Environmental, Social and Governance Sector (ESG), and related services, meets or exceeds client expectations.

To act as a brand Ambassador for BSI. This means acting ethically, following company policies, and promoting BSI services to clients so they are able to optimize business performance through assessment of their systems, processes and their supply chains against private and/or industry standards, and “inspire trust for a more resilient world”.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities
- Undertake the audits of clients in accordance with BSI and client / program requirements.
- For the portfolio of clients / programs allocated, establish and develop an effective partnership, for business development and increased client satisfaction.
- Provide accurate and prompt information to supporting functions and Project Managers, working closely with them to ensure that client records are up to date and complete, and that all other internal information requirements are met.
- Lead audit teams as required, ensuring that team members are adequately briefed so that quality of service is maintained and that effective working relationships are sustained both with Clients and within the team.
- Support and coach colleagues as appropriate, especially where those members are inexperienced auditors or unfamiliar with clients' business/technology, and assist in the induction and coaching of new colleagues.
- Provide technical support on ESG topics to business developers, Sales and Project Managers.
- Maintain and develop own skills and knowledge both technologically and in the field of management systems, industry programs and trends.
- Perform other projects assigned.

Audit delivery
- Make sure audit is well prepared, including qualification, working instruction, and reporting requirements;
- Arrange travel and logistics per audit assigned;
- Conduct opening meeting, factory tour, document review, worker interviews, due diligence and finding summary, closing meeting per program/client requirements;
- Prepare report and / or other audit program outputs;
- Archive documents per client/program requirements.

Technical Support to our Clients
- Explain audit requirements to auditee per client/program requirements;
- Liaise with the clients about technical queries as needed;
- Assist supporting functions and Project Managers in client enquiries and feedback on audit conducted.

Performance & Quality Enhancement
- Ensure the consistency of audit approach, reporting and work quality;
- Ensure you meet TAT requirements as well as other KPI’s defined by client/program or Project Manager;
- Perform special audits and pilot programs;
- Take necessary corrective & preventative actions to improve the execution of onsite/remote/hybrid audit;
- Collaborate with technical reviewers in identifying opportunities for audit delivery and report improvements.

Education / Qualifications
- Degree level, equivalent education or proven experience in managing complex technical programmes.
- Education and/or technical experience in topics relevant to ESG auditing: Environmental, Social (Labour rights, Health and Safety, Sustainability), Governance and Ethics of business, and have a comprehensive knowledge of business and supply chain processes.
- Commercial understanding of compliance industry.
- Additional advantage:

- APSCA qualification (RA or CSCA level);
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 qualification;
- SA8000 qualification;
- Knowledge in specific industries such as: Food, or Textile, or Chemical;
- At least 20 ESG audits (2nd Party or 3rd Party) completed and documented - audit log;
- 3rd Party Lead Auditor course.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels within a client’s organisation and BSI.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to formulate clear, concise and professional reports, explaining technical issues, within required timeframes.
- Energy and commitment to undertake the auditor role, working within different premises every day, in front of the client and constantly on the move.
- Able to keep up with changes to business, industry, management thinking and developing auditing styles.
- Familiar with basic MS Office packages including MS Word, Internet Explorer, Outlook and Point Global.
- Ability to think creatively to support the development of client programmes in an agile and flexible manner.
- Excellent organisational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated, results driven and delivers with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent knowledge of BSI processes and procedures.
- Language requirements - Italian (mother-tongue or fluent), English (fluent), German or French is a plus.
