Director, Accounting

**Job Summary**:
The Position is responsible for the integrity of financial operational reporting and has primary and direct responsibility for the financial analysis of the country. Further will be required to provide and interpret unbiased, independent analysis of current and future business cases to support and drive business leaders.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Compiles composite reports from individual reports of subordinates required by management or government agencies.
- Supervises and participates in preparing and auditing materials requiring analyses of supporting documents and ensures that all entries are entered into the system properly
- Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures
- Implement and ensure compliance to internal control processes
- Maintain and oversee implementation and monitoring of business processes and financial controls
- Provide timely, independent, verifiable information to gauge past and future performance and make appropriate decisions based on financial merits
- Manage staff, third-party service providers and accounting teams projects, including work plans, staffing, deadlines, project disbursements etc.
- Accounting management of the real estate properties, including the use of software
- Coordination with external professional and lawyers about the accounting documentation
- Administrative coordination with the other operating units of APW Group for the management of the properties acquired
- Bank reconciliations of customer collections with accounting documents and with the Company's database
- Administrative management of the Company's home banking portals
- Prepare monthly VAT calculations and payments, and keep accounting records of the Company VAT
- Partner with functional leaders to provide data, decision making and prioritization in the creation of the business strategy
- Ad hoc projects as needed

**Qualifications**

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or another related field

**Experience**:

- At least 5 -7 years of experience in the role within a Finance department with a minimum of 2-3 years direct supervision of accounting staff
- Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable

**Technical Skills**:

- Knowledge of accounting software systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Excel (formulas, V look ups), internet and database management

- Highly analytical, and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills.

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

- Eager to learn and ability to adapt to changing situations as needed.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day.
- Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day.
