**Your role and responsibilities**
Join ABB and take a leading role in shaping how Information Systems governance is executed and lived across our global organization. As **Global IS Governance Assurance and Advisory Lead**, you will ensure that our governance frameworks are not just documented but implemented, adopted, and continuously improved.

In this role, you will bring structure and order to a complex environment, enabling stakeholders across businesses and functions to work in alignment with our governance models. You will combine effective organizational skills with the ability to engage, guide, and advise senior stakeholders, ensuring that governance translates into real collaboration and value creation.

This position requires someone who is organized, motivated, and ready to manage the process of implementing improvements. You will be at the center of ABB’s IS strategy, balancing assurance with advisory, helping our teams not only comply but also thrive under a governance model that supports business goals.

You will be mainly accountable for:

- ** Governance frameworks and standards**: Designing, maintaining, and continuously improving IS governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure alignment between IT strategy and business goals.
- ** Assurance and compliance**: Monitoring the implementation and execution of governance, compliance, and risk frameworks; coordinating internal and external audits; and ensuring effective remediation of findings.
- ** Advisory and stakeholder engagement**: Advising senior leaders and business stakeholders on governance matters, facilitating collaboration across functions, and building relationships that enable governance to be understood and adopted in practice.
- ** Risk and control management**: Supporting risk assessment activities, monitoring the accuracy and performance of controls, and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX, trade, data privacy).
- ** Continuous improvement**:Diligently identifying opportunities to simplify, streamline, and enhance governance processes, ensuring they remain pragmatic, effective, and value-adding.

**Qualifications for the role**
- Extensive experience in IT/IS governance, compliance, risk management, OR in related areas such as project management, process improvement, or documentation management within a complex, global corporate environment.
- Proficient stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively across multiple functions, cultures, and seniority levels.
- Proficient organizational skills and a meticulous approach to details, enabling an orderly process for governance implementation.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and bear responsibility, demonstrating accountability, initiative, and the capacity to deliver without close supervision.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English (both written and spoken) required.
- Familiarity with governance frameworks and standards (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO/IEC 38500) will be considered a strong plus.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on improvement, able to identify gaps, propose solutions, and implement sustainable enhancements to governance processes.
