Transversal Internal Controller

Position Summary:
This is a key position within the Risk Management framework. The Transversal Internal Controller is responsible for monitoring an effective risk and control framework with proper level of governance across AXA Partners. The IC is also responsible for supporting in the risk and control management and for regular independent challenges and verification of the design and operating effectiveness of the control environment. The IC also helps to qualify and quantify the major risks according impact and strategy of the entity and challenges action plans defined by the owners.

Dimension of the role:

- Second line of defence within AXA Group Internal Control Policy
- Role will work across AXA Partners
- To work collaboratively with others in the Risk Management function to ensure a One AXA approach
- Communicate pertinent information about internal controls performance to enable people to carry out their responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

- Assist the Line Manager at all aspects
- Provide support to 1st Line of defence to implement/execute the controls defined by AXA/AXA Partners
- Perform 2nd Line control activities (design and operating effectiveness testing)
- Deliver adequate reporting on control deficiencies to ensure appropriate escalations and adequate action plans implemented
- Spread risk culture prevention and improve management understanding of risks faced
- Being the point of contact for “Scala” (Risk & Control reporting tool) and support 1st & 2nd Lines at all aspects regarding this tool.
- Drive compliance with AXA Group Standards and Solvency 2 policies & procedures
- Assist in the harmonization & reinforcement of IC processes and preparation/implementation/training of IC methodologies across AXA Partners
- Carry out spot check missions and support ad-hoc projects/ reviews

- Solid reporting line into AXA Partners Head of Internal Control Transversal Team
- Working relationships with the following teams:

- Internal Control Transversal Manager
- Central/Local control owners
- Internal Audit
- Legal & Compliance
- Regional/Local Internal Control teams
- Working relationships with external teams:

- External consultants

**Your Profile**
Skills and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, internal control or audit, and good understanding of internal control & practices (Big 4 experience is an asset)
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) in English and French
- Critical thinking and good analytical skills
- Demonstrate high reliability, quality and timeliness of deliverables
- Ability to work independently
- Organizational skills
- Ability to interact with a wide range of correspondents at various levels of management
- Proficient writing and delivery of presentations, documentations
- Ability to build strong relationships
- Project management skills
