Generali is a major player in the global insurance industry - a strategic and highly important sector for the growth, development and welfare of modern societies.
Within the Group Reinsurance function, the Security Analysis Office is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the counterparty credit worthiness of the eligible reinsurers for the whole Generali Group (Life and Non-Life, Treaty and Facultative). The team selects the most financially sound reinsurers, assess the maximum acceptable exposure towards them and provides reinsurance market intelligence to the Management to support the Group Reinsurance strategy and the relationships with the reinsurers.
The intern will have the opportunity to liaise with several Group Reinsurance units and other Group Head Office functions, as well as with the Business Intelligence teams of the major reinsurance brokers and will be involved in the following activities:
- Analysis of reinsurers’ financial data and KPIs, stock performances, rating agencies announcements, publications and market news with the aim to identify the best reinsurers, evaluate their performances and, potentially, to identify early warning signals of financial distress;
- Preparation of in-depth analysis of the reinsurers KPIs, peer analysis and overall reinsurance market performance and trends for Group Reinsurance Management;
- Evaluation of waiver requests for the use of counterparties not pre-authorized by Group Reinsurance due to specific business needs or purposes of the Group Business Units;
- Monitoring of the exposure of the Generali Group towards the reinsurers and concentration risk analysis for reporting to the Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali and EIOPA.
Must have
- Capability to perform a financial statements analysis and solid understanding of the impact of macroeconomic and financial factors on a company’s performance and financial strength;
- Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint.
