Ecumenical Youth Ministry and Activity Coordinator

**Ministry of Presence**:The purpose of this contract is to have an ecumenical youth ministry team present to be with the teens, by visiting schools, sporting events, lunches, and/or social activities where youth are expected to assemble or congregate. The purpose is to make and build relationships with youth and to demonstrate that the Aviano Air Base (AAB) Chapel youth ministry program is accessible to all youth.

1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES/GENERAL INFORMATION

The services to be rendered under this JOB DESCRIPTION shall be filled by a team of at least two people who will support the development and implementation of Religious Youth Ministries for the Middle School (6-8th grades) and High School (9-12th grades) youth for the AAB communities. This team shall henceforth be called “coordinator”. This is to support the Religious Youth Ministries conducted by the AAB Chapel. The coordinator shall provide all non-personal services and materials, except as otherwise provided for in this contract. The coordinator shall provide for the Middle School (6-8th grades) and High School (9-12th grades) ministry and direction, adult leader development and training, parent support group coordination, planning meetings, reports, school leadership training retreats and camps in support of the AAB communities. Team members must write and speak English fluently. Team members must be able to effectively communicate in English in professional and casual settings. Team members must have a functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, and basic financial record keeping skills.

Sensitivity and respect for other faith groups shall be demonstrated and maintained. The program shall have a ecumenical content and be structured so that youth will meet, learn, and grow in spiritual and ethical values, character building, social issues awareness, and life-style choices. The coordinator shall ensure all activities are coordinated through the AAB Wing Chaplains.

1.1. WORKING HOURS AND EXTENDED PERIOD OF ABSENCE.

12 Units (One unit consists of one month of work, with an average of 20-40 working hours for each position, per week)

12 MONTHS TOTAL (TEAM SHALL NOT EXCEED) 20 hours per week/per member

Contracting Squadron. Names of substitutes and credentials shall be provided within 30 calendar days of contract being awarded in order to accomplish required background checks (as described in Section 1.9) and verify educational and experience requirements are met. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring an updated list is provided to the COR if any changes should occur.

**1.1.2.3. **If subcoordinators are used, they must meet the requirements for the position as outlined in this JOB DESCRIPTION. Coordinator is responsible for payment of subcoordinator.

1.2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

The coordinator shall:
**1.2.1.9. **Service days.

**1.2.1.10.** Assist with coordination and support Vacation Bible School students (9-12th grades) and last least one (1) hour. These meetings shall be held regardless of the number of students attending. Meeting dates/times shall coincide with days school is in session and should be outside of class hours.

**1.2.2 Attend specific faith group training sessions conducted by AAB**: To increase knowledge/understanding of specific faith group requirements in order to improve ecumenical services (e.g. AMS Catechist RE training).

1.3. COORDINATOR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.

**Demonstrate the qualifications listed below for each potential team member**:
**Proof of Education**:Must have a Baccalaureate Degree (in any field). Copies of degree and transcripts must be provided.

**Proof of Experience**:Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working directly with youth in established youth organizations. A resume of education/experience AND two professional letters of reference per team member must be provided.
