R&d Junior Project Manager

Abafoods is searcing a new Jr. Project Manager to reinforce Ecotone R&D department to Innovate and renovate Dairy Alternative portfolio of products at European level and support sustainable & profitable growth in the DA markets. Our ambition is to “Put Biodiversity on the Menu”. The R&D Junior Project Manager will be a key part of the Dairy Alternative Category Team based in Italy. **Purpose of the job**: The R&D Jr. Project Manager will manage the R&D function within scope under the guidance of the R&D Sr. Project Manager. **Key Accountabilities**: The R&D Junior Project Manager should mainly supervise and/or execute the following set of activities: - Manage simple innovation/renovation/optimization projects decided by the Category Board/Team - Evaluate First Industrial Trial on above projects and Check Workability of Delivered Solution - Receive Customer Feedback on Industrial Trials and Define Refinements if Needed - Create and keep current product specifications on all ingredients to ensure that the correct products are sourced and Abafoods/Ecotone high quality standards are met. - Develop and collaborate good relationships with cross functional team members as well as the supplier community, ensuring that you proactively seek out answers and timelines to hit due dates. - Maintain the theoretical food cost system and ensure costs and recipes are current. - Organizes product tastings and sensory panels - Conduct shelf life studies on Pilot trials, industrial trials and first production - Takes care of laboratory equipment including instrument maintenance and calibration - Lab cleaning management - Takes care to organize the delivery of pilot, industrial trial and first productions samples to external labs/customers/Category - Assist and contribute to pilot trials **Main Contacts and Relationships**: **Internal**: Abafoods and Ecotone (European Category Team, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Quality, Production) **External**:Suppliers, Customers, Networks **Technical Skills / Knowledge**: - 2/3 years of experience in Product Development from bench to commercialization combined with Quality Assurance & Control experience (experience in the beverage category and/or in organic food is a plus) - Detail oriented and well organized, able to adhere to deadlines and work with a sense of urgency. - Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills. - Computer knowledge: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP - Ability to problem solve with a positive pro-active approach - Ability to excel in a flexible work environment - Ability to react and adapt in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to take initiative - Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and networks **Traits**: - Creative and Innovative person - Proactive and energetic - Takes personal responsibility - Customer focused - Responds to feedback - Communicates effectively (simple, clear and factual approach) - Continuously learns - Team player - Integrity - Persists through obstacles and develops solutions - Readily adapts to new challenges and sees them through - Partners with others to achieve common goals **Other**: - International experience/mind-set and working in a matrix environment - No problems to drive from one plant to another one - No problems to travel **EDUCATION** - Bachelor / Master Degree in Food Science with emphasis in Culinary Arts or Culinary Arts Degree with emphasis in Food Science - Languages: English - Other languages would be an advantage - ___ ____ ____ ___ **Abafoods srl** è un'azienda italiana leader nella produzione di bevande biologiche e fa parte del gruppo Ecotone; insieme ci impegniamo a creare un ambiente diversificato, inclusivo ed equo per tutti.
