**Summary**:
The Site Engineering Head leads the Engineering organization, which is responsible to establish, maintain and improve the engineering processes in the Site with respect to buildings, equipment, utilities and energy.

**About the Role**:
**Major accountabilities**:

- Mission & Vision of Engineering department, Objective setting and Talent pool development.
- Ensure Compliance with Quality Manual / Quality Modules / GOPs / Novartis Manufacturing Manual and support internal and external audits.
- Drive / improve technical availability, reliability and condition of assets via Total Productive Maintenance mindset.
- Establish cost efficient repair and maintenance processes in compliance with local regulations, HSE, GMP.
- Define and execute asset strategy and proper asset lifecycle management and recapitalization.
- Manage investment budget & project portfolio for Site and lead investment review committee
- Develop project execution strategy and execute investment projects according to customer needs (Scope, Costs, Schedule).
- Lead and continuously improve Technical Services (infrastructure, utilities), availability, reliability and cost optimization.
- Manage, coordinate and customize of centrally shared systems / databases to provide professional infrastructure for design, installation, qualification and lifecycle management of facilities and equipment.
- Lead the environmental sustainability initiatives to reach Novartis Environmental Sustainability objectives.

**Essential requirements**:

- Engineering Degree.
- Previous extensive experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Leadership experience (successful project management) on major investment projects and/or large maintenance organization.
- Excellent project management skills including contract management project appraisal / financial knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to effective present complex ideas and solutions to executive management, technical experts and regional / local teams.
- In-depth technical knowledge in chemical and / or pharmaceutical processes and equipment.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
